[Official] Xbox Live Summer of Arcade 2010

Recommended Posts

I purchased Hydro Thunder a few hours ago. I personally really like it as it truly reminds me of sitting in an arcade cabinet. It is just pure old school fun. Definitely a game you can just pick up do a few courses/challenges and come back to it later. At least right now. Also seems like it is going to present a solid challenge getting gold on everything.

So I am 2 for 2 so far, and for sure I am also picking up Tomb Raider as well, and also maybe Castlevania, so at the very least I'll be getting 400 points back from Ms for buying 3 out of the 5 games being offered.

Huh?

MS aren't giving points this year. If you buy 4 of the games they'll give you the 5th for free.

They are doing free points

Purchase all 5 Summer of Arcade games: Limbo, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, Hydro Thunder Hurricane, Castlevania Harmony of Despair, & Monday Night Combat before August 31, 2010 11:59pm EST, and receive 1200 Microsoft® Points – FREE! (Or, purchase at least 3 Summer of Arcade titles and receive 400 Microsoft Points for FREE!) Limit one (1) gift per person: either 400 Points or 1200 Points.

I think i am only going to end up with 400 points too.

Monday night combat just doesn't interest me at all.

Actually they are. If you buy 3 games, they give you a 400 points rebate, if you buy all 5, they give you a 1200 points rebate (essentially making the 5th game free). It's not instant, and it is a rebate in the form of points.

Hydro Thunder Hurricane was an instant buy for me, and definitely don't regret it. Game looks good, easy to pick up, and is a blast to play. Definitely presents a challenge with the Pro and Expert races as the latter is pretty frickin' hard! The game, also, reminds me of the experience I had with the arcade original. Only thing missing is the seat with a built in subwoofer!

Yep same here, no interest at all in Monday Night game.

Yeah definitely with the seat and the subwoofer. That and one broken quarter slot and it would feel just like the arcade!!

BTW Happy Birthday, but seriously, the pro challengers are seriously hard.

Thanks! :D

I can manage to place in the top 3 on Pro, but I've yet to place higher than 5 on Expert. Even then, I believe it was pure luck. At least the game is more forgiving when you first play it than the first Hydro Thunder was.

    • draw.io Desktop 30.2.6 by Razvan Serea draw.io desktop is a downloadable security-first diagramming application that runs on Windows, MacOS and Linux. Creating diagrams in the desktop app doesn’t need an internet connection. This is useful when you are disconnected or when you must create diagrams in a highly secure environment, where data protection is of the utmost importance. When you use the draw.io desktop app, your diagrams will be stored on your local device. Because this is a stand-alone application, also designed to run offline, there are no interfaces to cloud storage platforms available. Of course, you can still store your diagrams in folders that are synchronised to your cloud storage if you wish. Easy-to-use diagram editor The draw.io apps work just like the office and drawing tools you are used to using. Drag and drop shapes from the shape libraries and drag to draw connectors between them. Drag connectors to add waypoints and set a precise shape and position, or let them reroute automatically. Double click and start typing to add a label to anything. Create tables and swimlane flows with a familiar tool. Style shapes and connectors with customisable palettes, sketch options, fonts and text formatting tools. Search for shapes, including in open-source icon libraries. Use our vast libraries of shapes and templates, organised into logical categories, to create a range of diagrams and infographics. Generate diagrams from text descriptions using our smart templates.
