Alladaskill17
What World of Warcraft class has the most abilities? EDIT: Not Roles in a group /raid, actual moves you can use. SimplySchizo
+1 for Druid, definitely the most versatile. Spell-wise, i don't know. Lock had the most spells back when I used to play. Alladaskill17
Druid Melee DPS Range DPS Tank Healer Yeah, I meant actual spells and moves, not roles in a raid. +1 for Druid, definitely the most versatile. Spell-wise, i don't know. Lock had the most spells back when I used to play. Warlock is what I was thinking as well. MikeFu84
+1 for druid with Paladin a close second (Tank, Melee, Heals). Shaman I suppose as well (Melee, Ranged, Heals). Hot
It's druid, because they have all those different forms. Paladins don't have that many spells because they use the same form for every role. Warlocks would come after druids. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/915684-wow-which-class-has-the-most-abilities/#findComment-592836158 Share on other sites
nub
Druid according to wowhead... but that's including all ranks of spells. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/915684-wow-which-class-has-the-most-abilities/#findComment-592836160 Share on other sites
SimplySchizo
Warlock is what I was thinking as well. Yea druid plays the most roles, but definitely doesnt have the most abilities/spells. Warlocks have the most, hands down. Every one of his pets brings a new set to the table as well. I'm not a clicker (or wasn't), so my bindings and macros were crazy on my lock. Alladaskill17
According to wowhead.com, when you go to http://www.wowhead.com/class=9 or similar, it lists all abilities, but different ranks of each too. So not entirely accurate but still, a few have 245, most have less, surprisingly mages have 291, but Druids have the most with 315. Minifig
Why don't you ask in the Official Thread?.. Druids, are also the most complex, don't play a class based on "Abilities" because you sure as heck don't use all the abilities in the game EVEN if you're dual speced, play based on what you enjoy. Locks can just do so much crap lol. the evn show
Why don't you ask in the Official Thread?.. Druids, are also the most complex, don't play a class based on "Abilities" because you sure as heck don't use all the abilities in the game EVEN if you're dual speced, play based on what you enjoy. If you start counting up all the little buttons a given class can press during the course of an encounter you'll probably find that they all top out at around 20 abilities that have some value. Of those abilities you'll probably find yourself using 5-9 of them regularly, another half dozen once or twice and encounter, and the remainder maybe once or twice a day. The simplest class I can think of is arcane mage: They rely on 2 abilities for single-target damage, 2 for multiple-target damage, and two more for damage on the move. Personal 'gimmicks': blink, counter spell, invisibility, mirror image, ice block, mirror images, evocation, spell steal, remove curse, arcane power, presence of mind, icy veins, polymorph, amplify magic, and mana shield all have a place in current end-game content at one point or another, situationally. A feral druid or moonkin druid isn't likely to have more 'useful' abilities during any single encounter (if you're a bear, you're not going to pop-out and heal because you'd be useless at it) but they do have the option of completely changing play style depending on their mood. You'll feel more varied game-play shifting between feral DPS and tree healer even though neither spec is likely to use more than 20 abilities in a given encounter. When you consider 'real' end game encounters you'll find fire mages using 5 damage abilities (plus blink and 3 self buffs). A mageferal druid[/url] is using 9 abilities for the same encounter (plus 7 self buffs and abilities like combat res/tranquility if i counted right). A holy priest uses 12 abilities (plus 2 self buffs) in the same encounter and could reasonably be expected to use 5 other abilities under different circumstances. In any given encounter any given class will be choosing between about 25 possible actions of which roughly half-a-dozen will be used 80% of the time. These days the focus is more on positioning and execution of a strategy than picking exactly the right tool for the job every single time. Spookie
As everyone else said Warlock or Druid. The rest of the classes devolve in to pushing 3-4 buttons by end game. ylcard
These numbers.. how about we ignore the rank 2+. I did a simple filter to include only rank 1 spells: Hunter - 57. (+43) Warlock - 53. (+23) Druid - 66. Mage - 65. Shaman - 55. Paladin - 51. Death Knight - 44. (+5) Priest - 42. Warrior - 40. Rogue - 32. I guess if you count all unique abilities of the Hunter's pets, he wins. Personally, as a Pally tank, I have 36 buttons (3x12 bars) all used, one bar is simply for buffing, but it's still my abilities and I have to put them somewhere. That's a lot.. I see very nice looking UI's (unfortunately for me) that I can't use because they're "designed" to have 1-2 bars, more often than not they'll also be small and around 9-10 buttons, which isn't enough for me. When I was playing a Feral.. I just used two bars, one was shifting from caster/feral, so it *can* count as 3 bars, but I never saw 3 bars at the same time as Feral. Although it was a long time ago, back in Kara days.. now there are even more abilities that require a different rotation, we had the (arguably) most difficult rotation back then.. Eric Veteran Posted June 30, 2010 Veteran Share Posted June 30, 2010 As everyone else said Warlock or Druid. The rest of the classes devolve in to pushing 3-4 buttons by end game. I dunno... I play a Shaman as my main and I use way more than 3-4 buttons. Shaman don't macro very well. :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/915684-wow-which-class-has-the-most-abilities/#findComment-592838848 Share on other sites
