DrunknMunky has a UK topic because he hates Yanks so I thought I'd start a thread with any deals I find for Xbox owners across the pond. I'll try to keep it updated so please don't flame if you try a link and the deal is no longer valid, just bring it to my attention. Most of these will come from Slickdeals.net and some will be PS3 also.

What do you guys think? Should I keep editing the initial post to add the deals you guys add? I think it would make it easier than scrolling through the topic, especially later on. Also, should I strikethrough the dead deals or delete them altogether?

If you fell like doing that, it'll be great and it'll be best just to delete 'em once they expire.

7-6: Bioshock 2 $29.99 @ Newegg w/ Free Shipping

Stick to the format that is used for the UK deals thread.

I dunno... the more I see that thread the more I wished it would just have the information in the first post. I think in the old board it would lock after a while so you couldn't edit it at all but now you can. I think I'll stick to updating the first post so it's simple to find the current deals.

I prefer actually reading new posts (aka scrolling through the topic) rather than having to rely on you to update the topic with the new deals post. But that is just my opinion. I am not saying don't update the first post, that is up to you, but people should not have to rely on you to update if a great deal just gets posted and they are looking at the first post rather than the last few new posts.

This would also allow people to give +1 rep for their post and them having found it then sharing it.

I can't delete other people's posts so they'll still be there for you to +1 as much as you'd like. I will try to keep the first post updated as people post in this thread or I find a deal. Also, new people posting on this thread will bump the thread, so hopefully it'll stay near the top.

7/6-7/31 - Gamestop - Use promo code GS30 or 20FGS to save 20% on any in-stock game priced $29.99 or more + Free Ground Shipping. In-stock games only, no pre-orders

Email support if you have any issues with the code not working; Seems to be common problem. They're taking care of it right away too from what I've read.

You're creating too much work for yourself doing that. Imagine how many deals are in those 180+ pages and how much you'd have to keep on top of it to make sure they are still valid, while adding more to the pile. Plus it requires you to be a member for the indefinite future :p If for whatever reason you lose interest or you're banned then nobody else but you (or a mod of course) can edit the OP. Asking someone else to take over isn't gonna happen either imo lol.

It's messy, which is why I never cataloged them. The time is better spent finding new deals and just adding them in a new post. Or do what I do and collect a few deals at once to post.

fyi: The old board allowed you to edit the OP as much as you wanted whenever you wanted. It's not a new feature.

Good job on someone finally doing this for yanky doodles though (Y) Oh and thanks for asking for my permission to use my image/bandwidth ;) :p

Edit: Also I'm not sure if notifications can be sent when the OP is updated, or only when new comments are made. So it's not helpful to those that subscribe to topics.

The way I look at it is I'm on Neowin virtually every day... I can check this post and make the appropriate changes in about 10-15 minutes. If I keel over dead, new posts will still be added to the end and people can still scroll there to get the information. If someone other than me posts a deal, then the topic gets bumped, so the subscribers will get notified. If I make an update I'll post it at the end and edit the first post.

Oh, and don't worry about the file leeching anymore ;) The new image is much better anyways...

Great thread Ironman. I personally would like to see the deals in your OP, but that will be a crap load of work.

(what dolt rated this thread a one star?! I wish we could see who those people are)

lol :D

BTW, are you ever going to confirm me on PSN?

Alright, good luck :p

And I was kidding about the image btw, I don't mind you using it  I'll even make you a US one if you like.

What? You don't like my beautiful creation? I was going to add some animated gifs of fireworks but decided against it.

Oh wait...I see it's pending response. It must be waiting for me to accept. I thought I did, lol. No matter, I will go and accept you soon. I haven't had a reason to turn on my PS3 in quite awhile. I will turn it on for that :)

Well if you're going to keep updating the OP, please don't edit the listings we post here then.. Just quote it so you can copy/paste it right down to the styling.

I was trying to keep the listing similar so they kind of look like: #date# - #product (bolded)# #price# #store#. It makes it neater in my OCD mind :p

    • TeraCopy 4.0 Build 28 by Razvan Serea TeraCopy is a compact program designed to copy and move files at the maximum possible speed, also providing you with a lot of features. Copy files faster. TeraCopy uses dynamically adjusted buffers to reduce seek times. Asynchronous copy speeds up file transfer between two physical hard drives. Pause and resume transfers. Pause copy process at any time to free up system resources and continue with a single click. Error recovery. In case of copy error, TeraCopy will try several times and in the worse case just skips the file, not terminating the entire transfer. Interactive file list. TeraCopy shows failed file transfers and lets you fix the problem and recopy only problem files. Shell integration. TeraCopy can completely replace Explorer copy and move functions, allowing you work with files as usual. TeraCopy is free for non-commercial use only. For commercial use you need to buy a license. The paid version of the program includes the following features: Copy/move to your favorite folders. Save reports as HTML and CSV files. Select files with the same extension/folder. Remove the selected files from the copy queue. Features added since version 3.17: Enhanced speed graph. New multi-threaded copy engine. Support for copying to multiple targets. Queue system for managing multiple copy operations. Support for receiving files via the LocalSend protocol. TeraCopy entry in the modern Windows Explorer context menu. Integrated toolbar in the title bar. Why receive LocalSend transfers with TeraCopy? Handle file conflicts: Skip, overwrite, or rename files when a file with the same name already exists. LocalSend always creates another copy, which can waste time and disk space, especially when resuming an interrupted transfer. Filter unwanted files: Apply ignore lists or remove files manually before accepting a transfer, so unnecessary files are not downloaded. Better performance on fast networks: In tests over a 10 Gbps connection, TeraCopy received files several times faster than the standard LocalSend app on Windows. TeraCopy 4.0 Build 28 changelog: Fixed a bug where Overwrite behaved as Overwrite All during same-drive move operations. AdvancedInstaller fixed the installer’s security vulnerability: EXE Bootstrapper resolved the %appdata% location incorrectly for the System account. • New AMD graphics driver fixes install issues and FSR 4.1 crashes on RX 7000 GPUs by Taras Buria AMD is rolling out yet another graphics driver. Version 26.6.4 is now available for download, bringing two important fixes. One is for those still using Windows 10 and having trouble installing driver 26.6.2. In fact, this patch is coming from the recently released hotfix, so it is not new if you are already running version 26.6.3. The second fix is for RX 7000 owners. AMD recently brought FSR 4.1 support to the previous-gen graphics cards, but there was a bug with certain games crashing when using FSR 4.1. I experienced this issue with Forza Horizon 6, so today's driver should take care of that. Here is the official changelog: Intermittent install issue seen when installing AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.6.2 on Windows® 10 systems for Radeon™ RX 7000 series and above graphics products. Intermittent application crash may be observed in some games with AMD FSR Upscaling 4.1 enabled on Radeon™ RX 7000 series graphics products. Known issues include the following: Intermittent application crash or driver timeout may be observed while playing Battlefield™ 6 on AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370. AMD is actively working on a resolution with the developer to be released as soon as possible. Texture flickering or corruption may appear while playing Battlefield™ 6 with AMD Record and Stream on some AMD graphics products. AMD FSR Upscaling and AMD FSR Frame Generation may show as inactive in AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition while playing Battlefield™ 6 when enabled on Radeon™ RX 9000 series graphics products. Failure to install may be observed while installing AI Bundle components in some regions with limited access to HuggingFace and GitHub. Model flickering or rendering failure may be observed in Maxon Cinema 4D and Blender on Radeon™ RX 7000 series and above graphics products. Users experiencing this issue are recommended to install AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.3.1. Intermittent application crash may be observed on some models while running Blender on Radeon™ RX 7000 series and above graphics products. Users experiencing this issue are recommended to install AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.3.1. You can download the AMD Radeon driver 26.6.4 from the official website here. Full release notes are available on the same page.
    • Amazon may use OpenAI and Nova models after Anthropic reportedly raises costs by Karthik Mudaliar Amazon is reportedly considering to use OpenAI models and even its own Nova family of AI models after Anthropic raised the cost of using Claude inside Amazon services. According to a report from The Information, Amazon is weighing its options to reduce costs under a new arrangement with Anthropic. But back in April, Amazon said it would invest $5 billion more in Anthropic, with the possibility of adding up to another $20 billion if certain commercial milestones are met. That investment actually came on top of another $8 billion Amazon had already put into the Claude maker. Anthropic, meanwhile, committed to spend more than $100 billion over 10 years on AWS technologies, including Amazon’s Trainium chips. Amazon isn't just a customer of Anthropic but also one of the most important backers and cloud partners. This is why it makes it interesting that Amazon is considering other alternatives to handle its internal workloads. Although Amazon has been building its own options for a while now. Its Nova family of AI models was announced in late 2024 for Amazon Bedrock, with models aimed at text, image, and video tasks. Amazon pitched the model around cost and latency at that time. With that said, OpenAI has also become a more realistic option recently for AWS customers as well as for Amazon itself. Earlier this year, OpenAI brought its latest models and Codex coding agent to Amazon Bedrock, after changes to its previously more restrictive Microsoft cloud arrangement. This allowed AWS to serve even those customers who wanted other alternatives from Claude, without having to move workloads out of Amazon's cloud. Evaluating alternatives could also be due to commercial pressure and not necessarily a sign of a damaged partnership between Amazon and Anthropic. Whether or not Amazon is actually considering switching entirely to OpenAI's models or its own Nova models remains unknown at this moment.
