how big of a douche bag to you have to be to set up or own press conference to tell the world where you are going?

top footballers don't even do this and they are bigger then this guy will ever be...

You are aware its for charity? They're donating mad money to the Boys and Girls Club of America.... While it may seem like a "douche bag" thing of someone to do, the kids are benefiting.

so he can't just donate the money himself?

All I know is as a lifelong Knicks fan, it is going to be really, really easy to route against the Heat.

With that said, just being a fan of basketball overall, it is going to be truly interesting, and I definitely feel without a doubt entertaining, to see what winds up happening with the Heat in a few years time. They truly can, and with Pat Riley at the helm will, be a massive force to be reckoned with once they put a few more pieces in place. That is why I do give these 3 guys credit, as although they are still making millions upon millions of dollars, they really each are sacrificing a bit of money for the potential of the dynasty they can become.

I have to say though, this whole Decision thing was blown so out of proportion it truly was insane to me. Just unreal. Obviously sports, particularly basketball and American sports overall, are not all that big here on Neowin, so it really is not a good gauge of just how crazy this whole process has been. In my 35 years on this planet, I have truly never seen a bigger deal made over a single athlete then what has gone down this past week over which team Lebron was going to wind up on. It also helps I live in the Tri-State Area, and the Knicks were one of the candidates, so being I see NY Nightly news, I definitely did have a bit more exposure than some other parts of the country, but still, it truly was insanity and so incredibly over the top ridiculous. Just a crazy reflection of how much faith and importance our society puts on people that live a lifestyle that .001% of the population will. A true representation of the obsession with celebrity and materialism if I have ever seen it.

Lebron is a jerk. After 7 years in a town full of adoring fans he just leaves at the first opportunity. He also demonstrated a total lack of understanding of what being part of a team is all about when he said he's doing what's good for himself above anyone else. That is not the attitude of a team player. Just as well for the Cavs that he's gone since he had no loyalty to his team. And not to forget that it was his poor performance that cost the Cavs the championship this year. To him I say..don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya.

I like LeBron but i feel like he took the cheap way out. How can he be king in someone else s court? Hes now Wades little bitch.

You're just mad he didn't choose New York lol.Personally i hope he takes that team to the championship and wins it. I'm tired of seeing Kobe win.

Man, talk about bitter:

Open Letter to Fans from Cavaliers Majority Owner Dan Gilbert

"Dear Cleveland, All Of Northeast Ohio and Cleveland Cavaliers Supporters Wherever You May Be Tonight;

As you now know, our former hero, who grew up in the very region that he deserted this evening, is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier.

This was announced with a several day, narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his "decision" unlike anything ever "witnessed" in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment.

Clearly, this is bitterly disappointing to all of us.

The good news is that the ownership team and the rest of the hard-working, loyal, and driven staff over here at your hometown Cavaliers have not betrayed you nor NEVER will betray you.

There is so much more to tell you about the events of the recent past and our more than exciting future. Over the next several days and weeks, we will be communicating much of that to you.

You simply don't deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal.

You have given so much and deserve so much more.

In the meantime, I want to make one statement to you tonight:

"I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER ‘KING’ WINS ONE"

You can take it to the bank.

If you thought we were motivated before tonight to bring the hardware to Cleveland, I can tell you that this shameful display of selfishness and betrayal by one of our very own has shifted our "motivation" to previously unknown and previously never experienced levels.

Some people think they should go to heaven but NOT have to die to get there.

Sorry, but that's simply not how it works.

This shocking act of disloyalty from our home grown "chosen one" sends the exact opposite lesson of what we would want our children to learn. And "who" we would want them to grow-up to become.

But the good news is that this heartless and callous action can only serve as the antidote to the so-called "curse" on Cleveland, Ohio.

The self-declared former "King" will be taking the "curse" with him down south. And until he does "right" by Cleveland and Ohio, James (and the town where he plays) will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma.

Just watch.

Sleep well, Cleveland.

Tomorrow is a new and much brighter day....

I PROMISE you that our energy, focus, capital, knowledge and experience will be directed at one thing and one thing only:

DELIVERING YOU the championship you have long deserved and is long overdue...."

Well, they had 7 seven years to put better players around him and they failed. They bring old-man Shaq in? Come on, Cleveland. Listen, I lived in Minnesota during the time KG played there. He stayed longer than he should have out of some sort of 'loyalty' to Kevin McHale. Basically wasted most of his career. Only when he went to Boston did he win. I'm no huge fan of Labron, but I'm glad he got out of Cleveland now.

I don't think this announcement needed an entire hour, though.

I thought it was a great, well writen piece. Then again I'm from Cleveland. Sums up basically every Clevelanders mood.

We also didn't think Lebron's heart was in it last season. HE fell completely off the map. It's like he intentionally threw the game. He played like crap at the end, and we all think it was for an excuse to leave. He had all the tools, the players, but in the end it came down to his absoutely pathetic performance that he couldn't deliver a win out of the playoffs.

He's up there with Modell now on Cleveland's hate list.

if he is wade's bitch and miami win this year...who do you think will get the credit ;)

I don't think so, not if the Lakers, Boston and Orlando have something to say about it. Not only the Lakers and Boston are a better team than miami but?

they have a deeper bench than the heat.?

lebron's a douche, i hope kobe keeps winning and lebron keeps failing now after this selfish display of BS. I used to be a giant fan of his but to self promote himself and tell his home state he's out the way he did is cowardly. It had to be obvious from the start he was leaving. The fact that the conference was in Connecticut should have sent some warning bells off.

all hail king douche!!

I'll give that an amen and a hell yeah!!

Whether it's for charity or not, the dude is a douche bag!!

Cripe, a whole hour of this self spoiled brat is WAY to much. Just brought my interest in professional basketball down a notch (it wasn't that high anyway).

    • Browser vendors pen open letter to Microsoft saying "enough is enough" by Usama Jawad We have seen Microsoft resort to questionable tactics in the past to get more customers to use Edge, such as "bribing" people to use Edge, testing new behavior so that Edge loads automatically on startup every time, and pressuring OEMs to exclusively bundle Edge in Windows PCs. However, the company often receives pushback not only from customers but also from the Browser Choice Alliance (BCA). Now, the collective has penned an open letter to the Redmond tech firm to highlight its dissatisfaction with its practices. For those unaware, BCA is a coalition that touts several browser vendors as its members, including Google Chrome, Midori, Opera, Vivaldi, BrowserWorks, and Wavebox. Its latest open letter to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella emphasizes that "enough is enough" and that user choice on Windows should be respected. It claimed that the company is abusing its dominant position in the PC space to push customers to its first-party browser, even if they don't want to use it. To do this, it resorts to shady tactics, some of which we highlighted at the start of this piece. It says that Microsoft is making it very difficult for users to set their preferred browser across all touchpoints. This is problematic as PCs are becoming even more prevalent in the AI era, so user choice is being restricted across even more devices, further frustrating users (and competing browser vendors). As such, BCA has urged Microsoft to take the following actions to level the playing field: Allow browser suppliers to compete for preinstallation and default deals with Windows PC manufacturers End dark patterns targeted at users seeking to download and effectively use other browsers (including as system-level default) Bring back the ability for users to make switching default browsers simple and transparent with a “single click” change for all relevant file types and apps (including PDFs) Open all web links in the users’ selected system-level browser of choice Eliminate manipulative Microsoft-exclusive banners pushing Edge in Windows, including when users are searching for other browsers Stop using operating system updates to push users back to Edge Remove the restrictive configurations of existing S mode devices that block the usage of third-party browsers. It believes that all browsers should compete on merit, as this will drive innovation and healthy competition. Despite its strong wording and publication of the letter openly, it's unclear if Microsoft will pay any heed to the BCA and if this will result in any tangible downstream benefits. We'll likely find out in due time.
