A&E's dramatic series THE GLADES? follows Jim Longworth, an attractive, brilliant, yet hard to get along with homicide detective from Chicago who gets shot by his captain after being wrongfully accused of sleeping with his wife. After being exiled from the department, Longworth relocates to the sleepy, middle of nowhere town of Palm Glade, Florida, where the sunshine and golf are plentiful and crime is seemingly at a minimum. Only this town outside the Florida Everglades isn?t quite as idyllic as he thought, as he finds people keep turning up murdered. Each case pulls Longworth off the golf course and reluctantly into his element as one of the sharpest homicide detectives to wear a badge.

Between practicing his short game, trying to get a date with Callie - a quick-witted, beautiful medical student with a 12 year-old son and a husband in prison - and trying to solve countless homicide cases, Longworth?s transition to his new surroundings is a bit more difficult than expected. He?s realizing the skies in this new town are always sunny...with a chance of homicide.

so I just watched it and it's not to bad, the main dude is a bit of an annoying ass at times but his humor isn't that bad and Kiele Sanchez is kinda cute :shifty:

Doesn't sound really positive Rappy, i think i will wait this one out until i hear some better reviews.

haha the show was really highly rated, I believe the highest on a&e but then again not sure what else airs on there.

I liked it. better than Haven, which seems like it wants to be Eureka but fails.

IT feels a bit like The Mentalist, except with an an actual police investigator instead of the ... well mentalist. and I like his humor and better you attitude :) The real test is the second and third episodes anyway, not the pilot. Pilots are always just setups, sometimes better than the rest of the show, sometimes worse. For now though, I'll be watching this. Even if it wasn't the summer lows.

oh dear the worst of the worst!

@Hawkman I have never seen Eureka, I sense if I did I would hate Haven. So in that case I shall not watch Eureka as I am enjoying Haven :p

A&E ORDERS SECOND SEASON OF THE HIT DRAMA SERIES 'THE GLADES' STARRING MATT PASSMORE

NETWORK ORDERS 13 EPISODES FROM FOX TELEVISION STUDIOS

FIRST SEASON OF THE GLADES PROPELLED A&E TO AD-SUPPORTED CABLE'S NUMBER ONE NETWORK ON SUNDAY NIGHTS

NEW YORK - September 13, 2010 - A&E Network has picked up a second season of the acclaimed drama series, "The Glades" starring Matt Passmore, it was announced today by Bob DeBitetto, President and General Manager of A&E Network and BIO Channel.

Season-to-date, "The Glades" is averaging 3.2 million total viewers per premiere episode with 1.3 million adults 25-54 and 1.1 million adults 18-49. Not only has the series become A&E's number one program among total viewers since premiering in July, but "The Glades" has propelled A&E to ad-supported cable's number one network on Sunday nights among total viewers.

"'The Glades' has garnered critical acclaim and a loyal audience in its first season," said DeBitetto. "With superb writing and exceptional acting, led by a standout performance by Matt Passmore, we're pleased that the series has struck a chord with fans."

Season two of "The Glades" will begin pre-production later this year on thirteen new episodes slated to premiere in 2011. A&E is currently beginning production on the new scripted drama series "Breakout Kings," also slated for a 2011 premiere.

"The Glades" also stars Kiele Sanchez ("Lost," "Samantha Who?"), Carlos Gomez ("Shark," "Sleeper Cell") and Michelle Hurd ("Law & Order SVU," "Gossip Girl").

"The Glades" is produced by Fox Television Studios for A&E Network. The series executive producer is Clifton Campbell ("White Collar," "Profiler," "21 Jump Street") for Innuendo Productions and Gary Randall ("Saving Grace") for Grand Productions, Inc. The series creator is Clifton Campbell.

      Qualcomm's new Snapdragon Reality Elite chip brings on-device AI to Android XR devices by Pradeep Viswanathan Qualcomm has been delivering dedicated SoCs for mixed reality and spatial computing devices for several years. The journey started with the Snapdragon XR1, followed by the Snapdragon XR2 in 2019, the Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 in September 2023, and finally the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 in 2024. Today, Qualcomm announced a major upgrade with the new Snapdragon Reality Elite Platform, which targets premium mixed reality and spatial computing devices. OEMs can use this SoC to power both all-in-one video-see-through headsets and lightweight, tethered optical-see-through glasses. Qualcomm highlighted that the Snapdragon Reality Elite will power the next wave of Android XR devices coming later this year. These wearables will offer better visuals, improved power efficiency, and deeper on-device AI integration compared to the previous generation. The Snapdragon Reality Elite can deliver up to 48 TOPS of AI performance, allowing large language models and large vision models to run directly on the device for the first time. On the performance side, the Snapdragon Reality Elite offers up to 60% higher GPU performance, up to 30% higher CPU performance, and up to 160% higher NPU performance compared to the previous generation. The platform supports visuals of up to 4.4K per eye at 90 frames per second for sharper images and smoother motion. Qualcomm is also claiming significant efficiency improvements. The Snapdragon Reality Elite can offer up to 20% longer battery life under the same workload. More importantly, the chipset can run up to 12 degrees Celsius cooler under load, making headsets more comfortable for users to wear for longer periods. The platform also includes improvements to video see-through, featuring lower latency and better image quality. Qualcomm states that its EVA hardware block helps accelerate demanding computer vision workloads, improving how digital content blends with the real world.

      Umm... GitHub continues to use AWS. That's the story, that's the headline. There's no "new" news here. GitHub continues to require additional capacity beyond the originally-planned Azure allocations. There's nothing special about this; nothing noteworthy. They're still using AWS' infra until the cutover is complete.
