This is how I do it:

.progress-remainder {
background-image: none !important;
}

.progress-bar {
background-image: -moz-linear-gradient(0% 50%, rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.1) 50%, rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.4) 90%, rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.8)) !important;
background-color: royalblue !important;
-moz-border-radius: 0 0 0 5px !important;
}

This works great , Thanks!

Like this (you may need to adjust height and margin-top depending on your configuration):

.progress-remainder {
background-image: none !important;
}

.progress-bar {
background-image: -moz-linear-gradient(0% 50%, rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.1) 50%, rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.4) 90%, rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.8)) !important;
background-color: royalblue !important;
-moz-border-radius: 3px 0 0 3px !important;
}

#urlbar-progress{
height: 22px !important;
margin-top: -22px !important;
margin-bottom: 0px !important;
}

Jesus man, you're a Guru :laugh:. Thanks a lot!! Using your codes made this (win 7 style loading bar):

#urlbar-progress{
height: 22px !important;
margin-top: -22px !important;
margin-bottom: 0px !important;
margin-left: 28px !important;
}

.progress-bar
{
   -moz-appearance: progresschunk !important;
   background-color: transparent !important;
   opacity: .4 !important;
   -moz-border-radius: 3px 0 0 3px !important;
background-image: -moz-linear-gradient(0% 50%, rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.1) 50%, rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.4) 90%, rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.8)) !important;
}

Of course, if you don't like the grey background add this to it:

.progress-remainder {
background-image: none !important;
}

Question: is there a way to make the left spacing dynamic so it doesn't cover the page icon, even for large ones (maybe I'm not very clear but you might got the idea ) ?

Can you give the url of a site that uses a larger icon? I have an idea, but nothing to test it on.

Does anybody know if it's possible to hide favicons on tabs? The script I was using has been broken for a while now.

http://userstyles.org/styles/browse/global/hide%20favicons?per_page=100&sort=created_date&sort_direction=desc

You may be able to tweak the above to work?? The Ultra Minimalist.

Anyone got the stylish identifier for the hover URL text? I mean the new text that appears on the right side of the URL bar when you hover over a link.

I would like to change it's color.

Yeah, I want that too, but just to make it a little darker! :D

Sorry for double post!

I would also like to find out the stylish identifier for the new progress bar over tabs !

The "fission like-style" for the new url progress bar is also affecting my tab progress bars. I want to prevent it from doing that or ,if not possible, to disable the tab progress bars ...

overlink text (just change the color to your liking):

.urlbar-over-link-host-label,
.urlbar-over-link-path-label {
   color: red !important;

Yeah Firefox is acting silly today. Anyway:

#tabbrowser-tabs .progress-bar

#tabbrowser-tabs .progress-remainder

The only thing I could figure out for this was just to hide the label, which you may or may not consider to be a viable option:

#identity-icon-labels {
display: none !important;
}

:)

Thanks a lot, you're a lifesaver! Tried a lot of silly combinations, was pretty close at one point actually ! Thanks again!

No worries, that's not such a big issue (even if fission was doing that somehow :huh: ).

My new problem: to keep my win 7 -like progress bar without it affecting my tab progress bar. Tried this, but it disables the style for both of them for some reason:

    #urlbar-progress{
    height: 21px !important;
    margin-top: -21px !important;
    margin-bottom: 0px !important;
    margin-left: 28px !important;
    margin-right: 2px !important;
    }

    .progress-bar :not(#tabbrowser-tabs .progress-bar)
    {
     -moz-appearance: progresschunk !important;
     background-color: transparent !important;
     opacity: .5 !important;
     }

You are wright, that is the simpler approach. Thought about that to be honest, but used the wrong identifier (something like " #urlbar .progress-bar"). Anyway, considering I never used CSS codes before Firefox 4, I learned a thing or two ... :)

Thanks a lot again! I owe you a "virtual" beer ... Actually, come to think of it, I owe you something like a dozen ! :laugh:

So which is the correct stylish code to get the tab progress bar? I've tried the codes above, but none worked. Are add-ons required for it to work?

.progress-remainder {
background-image: none !important;
}

.progress-bar {
background-image: -moz-linear-gradient(0% 50%, rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.1) 50%, rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.4) 90%, rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.8)) !important;
background-color: royalblue !important;
-moz-border-radius: 0 0 0 5px !important;
}

The above worked for me. Just place it in userchrome.css I changed the royalblue to red.

In order to have the tab progress bars you must be using the latest Firefox 4 nightly. It is not yet available in the official beta.

Sorry for the double post! :unsure:

DeathWolf over at mozillaZine gave me a really good idea for this. Let's set the background-color as transparent, then configure the background-image gradient so that it's transparent at the left. Something like this (test it and let me know what you think):

.progress-remainder {
background-image: none !important;
}

#urlbar-progress .progress-bar {
background-image: -moz-linear-gradient(left, transparent 10%, rgba(102, 51, 255, 0.4) 90%, rgba(102, 51, 255,0.8)) !important;
background-color: transparent !important;
}

#urlbar-progress{
height: 22px !important;
margin-top: -22px !important;
margin-bottom: 0px !important;
margin-left: 28px !important;
}

    • If its the devs fault you would think Unreal would help M$ take full advantage of Unreal and work with them to fix the performance issues. Otherwise they are catching unwarranted bad press.
    • Thanks for the advice guys, I'll give my current GPU a clean and then run the benchmarks to see how similar it is. Hopefully a bit of a clean-out will help it last a bit longer.
    • Pretty sure those will still be in this game. The series' well-explored psychosis themes will return as well.

    • Microsoft making much needed change to Windows 11, 10 Patch Tuesday security updates by Sayan Sen Recently, Microsoft delivered its latest Defender patches for Windows 11 ISOs. These definitions are released from time to time alongside the general security updates available during Patch Tuesday. Speaking of Defender, the company has now announced another important change that affects how security updates are delivered to enterprise devices running Windows. According to a recent announcement, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint's endpoint detection and response (EDR) updates will no longer be bundled with the monthly Windows security updates or Patch Tuesdays. Instead the company is shifting delivery of these updates to Microsoft Update, bringing EDR servicing in line with several other Microsoft Defender components. If you recall, Microsoft last year moved PowerShell updates to Microsoft Update (MU) as well since it provides automatic updates for Microsoft products and services. Thus the move is intended to allow Microsoft to deliver EDR improvements and security enhancements independently of the OS's regular monthly update cycle; this should enable faster deployment of protection updates without requiring organizations to wait for the next Patch release. For those unfamiliar, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint's EDR capabilities are designed to help organizations detect, investigate, and respond to advanced threats across managed devices. Keeping these components updated is critical for maintaining protection against evolving attack techniques. The rollout has already began for Windows 10 devices in late May 2026 (last month) and Microsoft says it will gradually expand support to Windows 11 and the remaining supported Windows versions over the coming months. The company expects deployment across Windows 10 and Windows 11 to be completed by fall 2026 or around Q3 of this year. Once the transition is complete, EDR updates will be delivered through Microsoft Update using KB5005292, provided the required prerequisite updates have already been installed. Microsoft is also introducing a new Defender Update Service as part of the change. Following installation of the first update, devices will automatically create a new directory located at %ProgramData%\Microsoft\Microsoft Defender\Defender Update. Microsoft notes that restarts may occasionally be necessary in case of "rare" failure scenarios. For most organizations, the tech giant says no action will be required as long as Microsoft Update is already permitted within their update management strategy. Admins who rely on manually deployed update packages, however, will need to adjust their processes to ensure the new Defender update package is included. Microsoft also recommends reviewing internal documentation and notifying helpdesk and security operations teams about the updated delivery mechanism to avoid confusion during the transition. As a prerequisite, the tech giant notes that systems must be running Sense version 10.8798.25857.1000 or later and have one of the following Windows updates (or later) installed: Win11 24H2 KB5062660 (2025-07 Cumulative Update Preview) Win11 23H2 KB5062663 (2025-07 Cumulative Update Preview) Win11 22H2 KB5062663 (2025-07 Cumulative Update Preview) Win10 22H2 KB5062649 (2025-07 Cumulative Update Preview) Win10 1809 KB5063877 (2025-08 Cumulative Update) Server 2019 KB5063877 (2025-08 Cumulative Update) Server 2022 KB5063880 (2025-08 Cumulative Update) Server 2025 KB5063878 (2025-08 Cumulative Update) As always, organizations should verify that their update policies align with the new servicing approach before the broader rollout reaches all supported Windows platforms later this year. In case of major problems, the EDR update can be rolled back to the inbox version stored in %ProgramFiles%\\Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) using: MpCmdRun.exe -RevertMde -Product Edr -ToVersion Inbox For those who have access to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center portal, you can view the message here under ID MC1381119.
