P5LD2 + Core 2 Quad = CPU uCode Loading Error?

I have just bought a new processor and when I put it in I get the error message "intel CPU uCode Loading Error" I have updated the BIOS to the latest version I can find (motherboard is Asus P5LD2) but I am still getting the same error. It says press F1 to continue but nothing happens. I can get into BIOS and disable the warning but then it just sits there. I am thinking that it may be that the CPU is not compatible with the motherboard. If this is that case I am hoping that someone possibly has an alternate BIOS version that would allow this to work. Please Help!

Its because the board only supports upto Core™2 Duo not Quad there is no way to fix that.

yeah that's a really old board that supported both Pentium 4s, Ds and Core 2 Duos. youre SOL!

I was told that sometimes people have created their own "aftermarket" BIOS updates in these cases. Anyone have any knowledge of something like this? and if so could I possibly get a link?

ive used modded bios' in the past... they certainly do exist. sorry i cant be more specific.

just keep googling.

I don't know about that but you sure didn?t check first.
