well, I think everyone has an idea of what this game is but they have delayed it for so long, by the time it comes out might be a flop then again, it could be so good it will change everything (whatever that might mean) .. remains to be seen

indeed.

there are lots of people (like me) who get their kicks out of GT5: Prologue still - and will gladly accept whatever GT5 is/has

well, i am guessing there are lots of people...i mean, i cant be the only unique snowflake...

My friend still plays GT4 too! lol

It sounds like they're just absolutely packing this one full of content. I'm the kind of person who tends to stick with one racing game until I do everything that I set out to do (I'm still playing through Forza 3), so from that perspective, Gran Turismo 5 will probably be the last racing game that I purchase for a long, long time :).

It seems to be the cool thing online to express skepticism towards this game since it's been in development for so long, but I'm seriously excited for it. I'm already going to purchase a racing wheel just for this, and I'm considering upgrading my TV as well. Bring it on :).

This is going to be hte greatest racing game ever

Depends what you look for in a racing game I suppose :p When I got Forza 3 I knew it was going to be a sim and all that, and I still play it today. However, I can't play it for hours on end like I can, say, PGR4. There comes a point where the utter realism can spoil the game for me. I love the car porn, don't get me wrong, but unless you have the full racing set up, the gameplay can get tame after a few hours if you're stuck using a controller.
