as for the icons... how about iTunes, Skype, notepad++, VS 2010, CS5 Master Collection (not each program separately, but the icon of the MC itself), Netbeans..

^That looks great. Might I suggest adding a bevel around it like this?

It'll look as if it's embedded into the wallpaper a little more.

I like the idea though (Y) It's like an opening to an underlaying taskmanager.

well i didnt add the bevel because over some wallpaper it looks overdone.

this is a smooth wallpaper.

and it looks good but ive tried on 6 7 wallpaper before i finalised :p

and yea i wanted it to be different.
