Mafia - Snow Mod (Lost Heaven)

Just seen this on the site below looks very interesting.

Here are a few important facts/features:

- file size: packed=139 Mb, unpacked=300 Mb (approx).

- lots of changed textures (roads, trees, bridges, etc.)!

- a new and exciting winter music

- many sound changes (who really wants to hear summer birds in the winter).

- MSI based file for simple installation.

- two versions (English & German), same files, only the installer's language differs.

- a Launcher (only in German), to easily configure Mafia, with or without snow.

I tested this earlier today and found it didn't work after installation.

You must do one of the following after installing the game, patch and downloaded MOD file (second method saves most disk space):

- Download a tool called MafiaDataXTractor (www.lostheaven.co.uk), and extract ALL files.

- Then run the launcher and it will do the rest.

- OR -

Rename the following folders in your Mafia folder, "C:\Program Files\Mafia", by default.

- "schneegrafik" to "maps"

- "schneesound" to "sounds"

Delete (or don't run) the launcher files (schnee.exe, scrrun.dll, and scrrnde.dll) in the Mafia folder.

Run the game and enjoy the new snowy, wintery look (in the missions or the FreeRide modes)!!

hmm..I'l install this mod when I get done with the game. I love mafia. so pretty, and such a huge environment. Anyone who hasn't played it yet needs to go the the store or do whatever you have to do and get this game! It's fun as hell!

the mod looks like it may add some more replay value..
