I'd be surprised if you can make your home server actually transfer regions, but they did say this: "For our first Beta Weekend Event (April 27-29), home-world selection and world transfers will work just as they will when Guild Wars 2 launches."

Well, I ran the launcher this morning and instead of minimizing it just opened a window that said 0KB downloaded (0KB/sec). I moved the mouse around the window and apparently there are invisible buttons and fields. As soon as I saw the cursor become a hand, I clicked and was prompted for an installation folder. It's apparently downloading and hopefully when it's done I'll be able to log into the game. I'm running the latest 304.79 NVidia drivers btw.

Is anyone up to date on the key regions? Back in beta times I remember reading that if you buy an EU key, when you initially log in you will be on EU servers but you can choose US ones, youll just get logged out for a lil bit and then you're good to go. Is that still the case?

When I logged into the stress test last night and had to pick a server it listed EU servers. So I think you can go can where ever you want.

Like I said before, with an EU key, you have to be playing from the EU otherwise it will not let you log in.

To play from North America, you must purchase a North American copy of the game. To play from Europe, you must purchase a European copy of the game. Note that this restriction impacts where you can play from, not which game worlds you can choose to play on.

By purchasing the correct copy of the game, you're supporting the game in your country, and you'll be connecting to your local data center, using your local customer support team, and downloading the correct language support for your country.

Other than that, you can guest and play on whatever server you like, your home server doesn't even need to be in the EU.

Hope that helped.

Took a peek into a few of the zones that have been locked out during all the betas and other stress tests and i can't wait till i can actually explore them properly. Tomorrow night needs to come faster.

So we haven't actually created a list for peoples in game account info.

I guess I'll start, mine is:

fellyn.5083

If someone is feeling up to it we should created a google doc or some such listing them all.

And there is still no word on when/how we'll be able to link our GW1 accounts?

Edit: Nevermind, there is:

https://www.guildwar...uments-rewards/

Edit 2: It still does mention how we go about linking them. I guess maybe we do that in game???

Edit 3: Found this website:

http://massively.joy...inking-and-you/

And it says that we were asked to link our accounts when we registered. But I never had the option to do that. I prepurchased the first day we could.

And Gaile Gray says we'll be able to link our accounts before the release of GW2 but those tools are quite obviously not in place yet.

https://forum.guildwars.com/forum/forums/accounts/Linking-Guild-Wars-2-with-Guild-Wars-account

And it says that we were asked to link our accounts when we registered. But I never had the option to do that. I prepurchased the first day we could.

I wondered the same thing awhile back, here's the response back from their support team:
After looking into your issue, I was able to find a Guild Wars 2 account was successfully linked with Guild Wars 1 "<nope>@nope.nope". For all linked accounts, you would need to login using your Guild Wars 1 account information to access the game and the forums, or to reset your password.

If you entered a secondary email address at the time of registration (where it asks for Full Name, Date of Birth, etc.), this is the email that is only used for notifications. When ArenaNet sends you mail, or if you attempt to reset your password, those emails will be sent to the secondary address.

So although you login with Guild Wars 1 information, you will be notified with the secondary email.

If you are unsure whether yours are linked, just shoot their support team an email and ask, it seems they automatically linked if you used the same email.....if you used two different emails, I'm sure you can get support to link them.

EDIT: Also, read this....basically, when you pre-purchased the game, it asked if you had a GW1 account and if so, what it's user name was. Now that I have re-read that, I do recall having that question when I pre-purchased....but that was just before BWE3......so it might not have been in place when you pre-purchased.

I saw that too. I emailed their support but they are giving me the run around for some reason. They said if I could log into the GW2 forums using my GW1 account info my accounts were linked. But we've never been able to access the GW2 forums and my gw1/2 accounts both use different passwords so I don't get how they could possible be linked.

They couldn't just tell me if they are linked or not. But apparently they will have "tools" to link accounts "prior" to the head start events. And I'm wondering what "prior" means to them. Hours, days, or minutes? Because we ran out of days and we're getting low on hours.

Just posted 15 minutes ago... (from the time I've posted this):

You are now able to link your Guild Wars account to your Guild Wars 2 account,

if you have not already done so, by visiting http://account.guildwars2.com/.

For more information please visit http://en.support.gu...etail/a_id/9028.

Just 20 hours to go :woot:

lol, friend of mine is planning to wake up around midnight tomorrow for the release. I'd join him, but I've got my weight lifting tomorrow. :pinch:

Awesome. I guess I got all worked up a few minutes to early.

Because people are getting materials to buy expansion armors for the HoM. There is no point to hanging onto ectos anymore.

Yep :/ So sad I can't even sell a 7th Year Birthday Present for 30e, ended up selling it to a friend for 100k which is 20e now. People sure are weird in game now that GW2 launch is almost upon us. 30e isn't really that much and some people say it's too expensive.

My GW2 Display Name is Alera.2734 if anyone wants it too. :)

Still major trouble downloading the client on Win 8 RTM. The patcher window is blank and it says 0KB downloaded (0KB/sec). There obviously invisible buttons and fields because as I move my mouse the pointer changes. I wish I could get this to work.

I take it this thread will be blowing up soon... nearly 100 pages and it's not even out yet hahah.

Uninstalling the F2P MMOs, Blizzard-ware, and some other games I don't play anymore today.

Yeah, the Diablo 3 thread didn't hit 95 pages until a week (a little more actually) after it released. The GW2 thread is there already and we got 12 hours left before it releases.

I also cleaned up my system a bit....moved my Steam install to a backup drive (only play TF2 occasionally, but it was still taking up 15GB....was down to around 5GB free on my SSD).

This topic is now closed to further replies.

    • When will the Photos app be updated to remember the window size and position when reopened? They addressed this issue in a 2024 version of the app (though I can't recall the build number). Unfortunately, after that specific version, the problem persists! Please prioritise this fix in your K2 schedule. Additionally, the Snipping Tool has lost the ability to capture the Windows Taskbar starting from the 2024 version!
    • Same, never saw it on Android or iOS. Guess only some people got it *shrugs*
