I wasn't very interested in this game, and less so after they constantly started moaning about making Heavenly Sword.
But after the recent vids my interest is certainly on the rise, I wont get it when it comes out, but it is definitely the type of game to put on my Christmas this year.

After all the trouble I went with to get the strategy guide for it.. I wasn't going to play it. But @mistical looked through it and said that each level is fairly short as-is the game itself. Will probably run through it for easy achievements. :)

Just a rental for me though.

Just spoiled myself by watching the ending of Enslaved. I was quite freaked out by the ending tbh :p I definitely buy the game for sure to add to my small 360 game library but only once its price drops. At least I got Fable 3 and Civ 5 to keep me busy.

I actually beat Enslaved last night.

The ending was kind of cliche. I won't spoil it, but it's been done a few times over.

Though that's not to say I didn't enjoy it. It's an absolutely beautiful ending, coupled with what is now one of my favorite ending theme songs of any game this generation.

Even though the new Devil May Cry character concept design leaves a terribly fanboy filled sour taste in my mouth, I have to admit that Ninja Theory does character interaction incredibly well. Dialogue between characters never sounds like stock banter, but geniunely original dialect. Not to mention how amazing the voice acting is in both Heavenly Sword (ANDY SERKIS? ILL TAKE TWENTY COPIES, SIR.) and Enslaved.

Also, I couldn't shake the nostalgic feeling of Beyond Good and Evil while playing this game. (Probably had to do something with Pigsy...)

BUT ALL IN ALL, it's a rental.

I am still playing it. Had to slow down because i was going through it to quickly. I am really enjoying it. The game isn't that difficult but the platforming is usually solid other than a few occasions and some of the areas you go to are beautiful.

I think i'll finish it today and then have the weekend to tackle Castlevania.

So this game hasn't been on my radar at all since it was announced, but now I think I'm going to return Castlevania LOS for this game (which in my opinion gets real old real quick).

Everyone's been giving this game gushing reviews, and based on the fact that it excels on things like pacing, writing, character and facial animation, and fun really has put this game on my radar. Some sites/podcasts have gone to the extent to say that this game emotes and conveys human relationship in a way that games like Heavy Rain wishes they did.

Also, literary influence in game design really intrigues me, which is one reason I love Bioshock so much. This game is apparently based on an old Chinese book called Journey to the West (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Journey_to_the_West) and while I haven't read it (I plan on reading the Arthur Waley version soon) the literary themes seem pretty amazing for its time. Based on the Wikipedia entry, they have kept the character's name Monkey (in the book he's an actual monkey), Trip (in the book he's an old monk, in the game she's a she), and Pigsy (in the book he's an actual Pig). I also enjoy the fact that in the book Monkey rides a cloud, and in the game they call his hoverboard a "cloud"

I'm really looking forward to receiving this game, and I hope I feel the same way about this game that other reviews have. Has anyone who has played the game felt the same sentiments?

By the way, mods, is there any way to change the thread title, this seems to be the official thread of the game now.

massiveterra, the pacing in this one is HORRIBLE. i was really looking forward to liking it, but for their **** poor design they're never going to get more than 7/10 from me. there's a level that's literally just throwing bad guys at you ad nauseum like this is Galaxian. i thought it was supposed to be about the narrative, no? and when they playtested it, no one came up and said "maybe we should stop at the 30th bot, that's enough"? combat is a chore, platforming is good, voice acting is superb, facial animations and characterizations are awesome. if this was a movie it'd be good, as a game it's average at best and i regret saying this because Alex Garland wrote some good stuff before. but what exactly did he do for this one? Wrote another five-on-one bot battle into the "plot"? give me a break.

    • You can't remove Safari though. Or almost any other bundled app for that matter, and pretty much all of them are useless to me (and there are is a heap of them compared to Windows). I'll much rather take Edge than Safari, at least it can be highly customized vs. Safari. I'll take a PC with ten Edges over a Mac any day though as I can't stand all the limitation and painfully frustrationg restriction that make me dislike their stuff with a burning passion, iOS included (especially iOS).
    • DVD only? What kind of self-respecting optical disk backup/ripping tool doesn't support Blu-ray these days? I burned all my DVDs like 15+ years ago...

    • Glow 26.9 by Razvan Serea Glow provides detailed reporting on every hardware component in your computer, saving you valuable time typically spent searching for CPU, motherboard, RAM, graphics card, and other stats. With Glow, all the information is conveniently presented in one clean interface, allowing you to easily access and review the comprehensive hardware details of your system. Glow provides detailed information on various system aspects, including OS, motherboard, processor, memory, graphics card, storage, network, battery, drivers, and services. The well-organized format ensures easy access to the required information. You can export all the gathered data to a plain text file, facilitating sharing with others for troubleshooting purposes. No installation needed. Just decompress the archive, launch the executable, and access computer-related information. Glow runs on Windows 11 and Windows 10 64-bit versions. Glow 26.9 changelog: New Features The processor hardware detection engine has been significantly enhanced beyond traditional Intel and AMD architectures. Native support is now available for modern platforms such as Apple Silicon (M-Series) and the newly introduced NVIDIA Spark. In addition, all ARM-based processors can now be accurately distinguished between ARM32 and ARM64 architectures, providing precise hardware reporting. This marks a major milestone for Glow's hardware detection capabilities. The RAM manufacturer identification algorithm has been expanded. JEDEC vendor codes for popular brands such as Patriot, PNY, Team Group, GeIL, Lexar (Longsys), and Asgard/Gloway have been integrated into the database. This significantly reduces the likelihood of incorrect or "Unknown Manufacturer" results and improves overall hardware detection accuracy. New Public IP Address and Internet Service Provider (ISP) features have been added to the Network section. To ensure reliability, this information is retrieved from the trusted service ipwho.is. When Hiding Mode is enabled, no requests are sent and these features remain hidden, as they may expose sensitive information. The search engine used in the Installed Drivers, Installed Services, and Installed Applications sections has been enhanced. You can now perform more flexible and accurate searches using initials, partial matches, and loosely arranged character sequences. The TS Preloader loading bar has been rebuilt using our modern TS Custom Controls graphics library, developed entirely in-house. As a result of this infrastructure upgrade, the loading bar now features smooth rendering and rounded corners that align with the visual style of Windows 11. [TS Updater] A new validation algorithm has been added to check whether the target application is currently running before the update process begins. Bug Fixes Resolved a condition that could prevent TS Preloader from shutting down safely during rare application crash scenarios. Fixed a text alignment issue in the Network section affecting the display of DNS addresses. Alignment is now rendered correctly. [TS Updater] Fixed an issue that could prevent the updated application's executable "*.exe" file from being located after the update process. [TS Updater] Fixed a bug that could leave outdated "*.sha256" files in the application directory after an update. [TS Updater] Fixed a rare issue that could cause subfolders to be moved into the root directory after an update. [TS Updater] Fixed an issue during the first launch that could cause flickering and a temporary white window appearance due to Windows Defender interactions. Changes A small improvement has been made to the internet connectivity detection algorithm. Connectivity checks are now performed in the background with minimal impact on the user interface thread. The keyboard shortcuts in the top menu have been reorganized and simplified to provide a consistent experience across all Türkaysoft applications and to avoid potential conflicts with standard Windows shortcuts. The TS Preloader splash image has been updated with a Türkiye-themed stadium design to celebrate Türkiye's qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup—its first appearance in 24 years. Congratulations, Türkiye! The TS Custom Controls module has been updated to version 26.6, delivering improved stability and a more polished visual appearance. [TS Updater] The application icon has been redesigned to provide a more modern and refined look. Note: Always unzip the program before using it. Otherwise you may get an error.
