How do you change the default folder icon??

I went through the file types in the folder options

and found the folder icon, but when you open up the

properties for it, the option to change the icon is greyed out

is there a registery hack or a program that i can use to

change the default icon?

I've been messing around with shell32.dll and resource hacker, but i cant seem to change the icon that i want. when i select the replace icon option, i get a pop up that shows the icon group. Ive tried replacing it there, but it changes the icon in the icon (not icon group section) where its not supposed to be.

any suggestions?

-edit-

Ive gotten the icon group to change the right way, but to be sure and not waste my time, am i supposed to change the icon or the icon group??

Hey guys, what are the chances of someone posting a step by step walk-through of the process? I've been messing with this one for weeks. I've got it so in My Computer, IE, etc, they show up the right (blue) icon. However, Windows Explorer in Detail view does not, and nothing I've tried works. I've gone through and changed a bunch of 'em one by one, but that's not gonna do. So if there's anyway at all to change the DEFAULT folder icon in Windows Explorer, please oh please lemme know... thx
