PHP, MySQL on Windows Server 2003?!?!

So... everything is up and running now...

My namservers are working.. my web/mail server is working too.

Now the question is.. is it possible to run PHP and MySQL on Windows Server 2003?

If I want to run PHP-Nuke or even Invision Power Board :cool: is there a way to do this?

I have seen various packages which could be installed and offered apache, mysql, php et. in one installation file... but wont this conflict with IIS?

Anyone tryied it before?

as long as you give each their diffrent ports then apache and IIS can do just fine together

also I've tried several compilations for apache+php+mysql+(insert andything else)

but I've always gone back to installing each by itself

you just have to make sure of some configuration files , but that's something good to learn anyways if your playing around with that sort of stuff

I'd say try to find a good tutorial on installing them... and edit the port on apache ... then change the configs of the others accordingly

I remember robouk had a good tutorial for that... maybe check that out

I have PHP 4.3.2, mySQL 4.0.13 and Invision 1.1.2 running perfectly under IIS6 on 2003 Server.

Just have to remember to add PHP as an allowed extension under Web Service Extensions in the IIS Manager.

Don't install PHP 5 ,it doesn't support mysql

How did you do that?

I can't get PHP to work on IIS6.

And it's allowed in the Web Service Extensions section.

edit: i can get it to work using the CGI exe, but I want to use the module instead.

copy the file "php4ts.dll" to windows\system32

since you say you have it working as a CGI exe type thing, you should have entered php.exe in about 2 places. replace those 2 places you typed in php.exe with [your-php-dir]\sapi\php4isapi.dll

(those 2 places are allowed extensions and the part of site properties where you associate .php with the php executable)

next you need to add the php4isapi.dll to the ISAPI apps which is also in the site properties window.

finally click Start, hit Run, and type in iisreset

php should work as an ISAPI module now.

i tried that, but it just has a red arrow saying "not loaded" :(

i would look for a php tutorial for xp if i were you since i am sure you will be able to adapt it for 2003

another thought is that if you are to be using php scripts that will be adding + deleting you might have to edit the default internet user account because when i did it i needed to or else i couldnt update my database files (this was using asp though)
