Mafia 1 (on PC) still has not been topped by ANY of the GTA games in my book. Mafia is one of the very few games i would classify as a masterpiece since it holds up well against higher quality movies.

in fact, i consider Mafia to be the best single player gaming 'experience' i had to date because it was quality across the board and left a emotional impact on you when you completed it which i never got that feeling in any other game to date. so while GTA series was solid they just never took it to the next level like Mafia did. in fact, i replayed Mafia at least 10+ times since it was new in Aug 2002 to date.
