so we farmed the big red guy with the big hammer a few times for mats tonight. tough boss and takes a fair amount of team work and strategy. being in mumble helped alot too. managed to beat him in increased dificulty(where his big attacks will OHKO you) and in less than 13 minutes. whats funny is we kept getting the gloves he drops after we had all crafted them.

between the 3 of us in mumble we all manged to do quite a bit of crafting, and when i logged off i was in completely different gear than when i started. including a nice blue sword with 1500+ attack rating.

Psh, the big red guy is weak once you know how to beat him. Bring hooks with you.....a single person with hooks is enough to get his health bar down at least 1.5x (if not more), if you have 4 people with hooks thats 6x health bars when he only has 5 (with 4 people on normal mode with the increased difficult oath). Last time I fought him, we had 3 people, he had 3x health bars and I was the only one to bring hooks. You can only use 8 hooks per mission, and we got him down to about half a health bar before I ran out of hooks (I missed 3-4 hooks too). In short, 1 person went down once, then after I ran out of hooks I threw rocks at him which stunned him quite often, he didn't even stand a chance.

I also crafted that weapon as well, I already have 1 of the 2 mauls you need to craft that blue sword a second time, which is good for selling.

all i need to do now is craft some veteran raiment pants for the set for the quest, and post the rest of the raging crimson(?) set.

I finished the veteran set, working on the raging crimson set, already have 2 of the pieces (gloves and chest) and it looks pretty awesome. I think I am only 1 or 2 cloth and/or leather short of having another piece, but I haven't played since 4 hours ago or so.

But yeah, definitely take hooks with you on the chieftain mission, a single person with hooks can cause the chieftain to drop easily 3/5ths of his health (or more) without a single person even getting hit if your good with hooks.

EDIT: As for tokens, I have 50 of 50 silver tokens right now, and I think you can trade those tokens you get from the early quests and for ressing someone on a mission and what not for silver tokens, so if it is only two then you can do quite a few, 25 just on what you have from the beginning.

yeah it's all about the hooks with him. on the second attempt at less than 13 minutes we had him on the ground the whole fight. i stop dpsing to regain stamina a few times.

he's definitely not hard once you find the strat to getting him down, but starting fresh with only one person in the party with a single attempt on him solo opn hardmode oath was interesting and maybe made it tougher than it really is. :p

i have 3 pieces of the raging crimsons set. just need the pants iirc. i seem to get the worst drops from chieftain.

does anyone know how to change colour on gear pieces? we noticed some pretty awful and clashing colours on our armours that were totally random.

I did the same thing (though on normal), I got him down maybe 1 health bar before I died.....ended up running out of potions and what not, but that was before I got Nimble Dash (dash twice in a row) so it was difficult to dodge his attacks.

I've beaten him twice now solo, one of them being the Champion's Challenge (solo mode) oath... But damn, he is difficult.

I could probably do it without much trouble since I got nimble dash, I would just have to be more careful with my attacking.....before, I would try to stay close enough to him to get a bunch of thousand needle hits (down to like 30 energy from full) then do my smash attack, but I think if I just hit him some then dodged I would be able to do it. It would take awhile, but I'm going to eventually do it anyway.

I finally got to play around a bit today!! Man the game is pretty awesome! Usually in other MMO's, I would skip the texts and stuff, even the ones that proclaim about their storyline being the focus, etc, but Vindictus' story is pretty interesting so far! The translation is superb! Loving the crafting system. So far the only complaint I got is the grinding for material thing though... for the life of me I still can't find a Life Spirit Remnant..(got all the others). And I feel there really need to be more Cloth drops!!

I can't wait when we can get a guild going :)

remind me tomorrow/Sunday/today when we get on. I will give you a Fire. I got an extra tonight, after I finished crafting my entire Crimson Rage set!!! WOOT!!

Yeah tree and myself and Novaru had a great time tonight and got a TON accomplished. I am now level 14 and ready to take on the big Polar bear!!!

also good ping is important too. the combat instances are all p2p so if someone in the group is laggy it affects the rest of the group it seems.

for most of the missions last night we had no lag, but near the end we hada couple of somewhat laggy PUGs join us and it lagged everyone out a bit except me(i was leader), but i could see everyone else lagging.

so even if you do use a proxy, keep in mind that it might not really be playable.

    • Zed 1.7.2 has landed with updated OpenCode models, bug fixes and other improvements by David Uzondu Zed 1.7.2 recently landed on the stable release channel, bringing a host of AI-related features including automatic context compaction and settings-based skill management, along with other things like better Markdown preview rendering and custom git commands in the graph view. Starting with the AI stuff, the developers introduced "/compact", a command that basically summarizes your conversation history on demand. This tool prevents your active chat window from hitting token limits by compressing older parts of the dialogue into a brief overview. In addition to that, the team relocated skill management to the settings UI, improving how the application communicates errors regarding those skills, and updated the OpenCode model roster to support DeepSeek V4 Flash, MiniMax M3, Qwen 3.7 Plus, and Nemotron 3 Ultra Free. External agent users can also monitor context window cost metrics and delete individual sessions directly from their history. Right-clicking ref labels in the git graph now opens a context menu that runs different actions against selected targets, kind of how VS Code does it. Here are some of the bug fixes this new release brings: The active agent fails to auto-select when creating a new git worktree. A scrollbar unexpectedly appears on wrapped code blocks in the agent chat. Collapse indicators for project headers appear when performing sidebar searches. Bracketed ellipsis title prefixes fail to show the ellipsis icon properly. Project icons render incorrectly in the recent projects picker. Diff hunk controls appear inside non-editable commit view multibuffers. The software update button hangs indefinitely on the downloading stage. Restoring an agent terminal in a remote project triggers a sudden crash. Splitting a pane that contains an active commit view causes a crash. Linux Wayland freezes when trying to read the clipboard from laggy external apps. Zed is a "newish" code editor trying to break the massive stronghold VS Code has on the developer community. Funny enough, the editor was created by former GitHub employees who worked on the Atom text editor (which Microsoft killed in 2022, several years after it bought GitHub). The project officially hit version 1.0 back in April, introducing platform parity for Windows and Linux alongside deep support for DeepSeek-V4-Pro.
    • 26H2 absolutely will support ARM Windows just not on devices that came with 26H1. This is evident by the fact I am running 26H2, which on my MacBook Neo and Surface Pro 12 (inch), within a VM.

    • The FIFA World Cup is not US centric.
    • It’s amusing how Microsoft is pushing IT admins as if this was a major, game-changing update. In reality, it’s just an enablement package that bumps the build number, which is disappointing compared to the more substantial 22H2 and 24H2 releases. Technically, 25H2, 26H1, and the upcoming 26H2 are essentially the same, differing only in support schedules. They could have included the Windows K2 improvements here, but chose not to. The era of Windows being in the backburner continues, and this 26H2 release feels like an afterthought. Shame, Nadella, shame.
