Added a few people to the roster, thanks for sending in your in game names!

@firey: I'm going to wait a couple more days until we start a guild fund. Since right now everyone is still kinda in the exploring and getting used to everything stage. Besides, there isn't a way to start a guild as of yet due to game content limitations. So once everybody hits around level 20, when hopefully we'll all have some money, maybe I can then start a fund for when the guild feature does come out, we'll be ready to form the Neowin Guild :)

Haha, that was a lot of fun tonight guys! With the help from you guys, I went from level 11 to 14 with almost full set of Crimson Rage set. The Gnoll Chieftain fight was extremely challenging and fun. Definitely takes team work and really satisfying when he's finally down. To think this is only early beta with lots of contents not fulfilled yet, it's got a bright future ahead!

See this is what its all about. I have a blast just helping everyone out because its fun all around, and I tell ya what, getting everyone on mumble and not having to worry about typing out stuff and just say it really quickly like "I got chain this time" or "use your spear" or like last night "lol we all got one shotted anyone using a grace" is fantastic..

BTW last night I got to Solo the Chieftain.. It was e-mazing!!! Don't want to do it again but HOLY cow, since rolling4ward was lagging so bad he got 1 shotted the first 2 secs into the fight and I had to take him solo.. Absolutely Epic fun though.

did you beat him?

when me and novaru ended up duoing him it was a real PITA especially when we ran out of chains.

did you guys end up getting the hat last night?

i've done chieftain so many times in the last 3 days lol :p learning to use chain on him was fun though. and spending 5 minutes trying to knock his hat off with objects was pretty lolzy.

I did beat him.. Did not get the hat because I had no spears, I basically had to run around and use every freakin object I could hit him with the stun him enough to beat on him. It took me about 10-15 mins to beat him but I did it.

I still need them helm, but after you guys ran it so many times, and you know how ****ed I was with my connection dropping last night that I just gave up on it and will do it later, when you guys aren't so burnt out on running it :p

Hahaha, that was great! "Ok guys! He's exhausted! Whack his head with something!" *Swoosh* A pot flies over his ginormous head, misses completely. FAIL!

Next time, 2 people with chains and 2 people with spears. We gotta get his helmet!

agreed. We really need to finish that up so we can move on without leaving this quest behind.. I mean we can do the 2 man with no problems. I realized that last night when I soloed him. I know how to do the fight solo now, and its a matter of just running like mad, screaming at the top of your lungs, and finally attacking him when he stops because he is exhausted :p

Ahhhh! *drops to the floor spinning around in circles like a little child yelling " wanna play I wanna play"*

reading your comments are getting so excited to play, and while yes I do have the key now thanks to Bei337 (whose awesome for doing this) My laptop...broke

I just finished running to a PC repair shop and they told me it will be up and running in 2-5 days.

Hopefully I will have it back in my hands and will be playing Vindictus with everyone which will probably make my mind implode with awesomeness, Lol.

At any rate I just wanted to make make sure you all said you were playing on the Eastern server right? Also What would you all say is your favorite thing about Vindictus so far.

I had tried chieftan like 3 times, each group tried doing it under the 15 mins each time failing miserably. I ended up in a party with 1 other guy no oath or anything and ended up doing it no problem. So the oaths are nice in the fact they make a fairly easy thing difficult.

HAHA they can do that. Luckily though, with the group from Neowin that we have, we really do everything pretty well. Everyone is competent and all work well together so we can pretty much do anything needed. It also helps a TON using voice chat for fights.

Just wanted to say my IGN is devithelight but I havent had time to play since I hit level 7. Hopefully I can get on more soon.

I'll agree it's quite low of me to get back to posting only to get a key, but I'd really love to try that game. Besides, as many users have pointed to me when I was a forum manager, most of the viewers are not even registered. I used not to believe it, but in this case, I'm surprised to fall into that category. I'm more of a neoreader than a neowriter.

In any case, I'll be glad to get a key and send 2 back by PM.

we had to do 2 attempts to get the under 13 minutes oath on chieftain, and the second try we did it with less than 1 minute on the clock. with 3 people in mumble both times.

but on the last run on that oath we did with more than 3 minutes on the clock left. although we had him chain chained for most of that fight(chaining doesn't always relaibly work 100% of the time it seems)

last night we did it on hard with the difficulty up oath alright.

@scarlet, i hope you have a wired connection and for your laptop and it has decent specs or the game is likely going to be unplayable for you. the first night out i played with a guy on a wireless laptop and it was pretty much unplayable for both of us with him as party leader. just massive lag the whole time. he gave up because it was just no good for him to do it that way.

you don't need a brand new high end pc for this game, but you do need good internet. smeltn was getting dc's and lag last night badly, same with sleeper, and it was a real problem for running parties.

@treemonster:

Sadly My laptop would be wireless, but If it really is to laggy to play I can simply go upstairs and connect it directly. As for spec wise, I believe it is Capable. Its a Toshiba P305D S8828 Let me just post the specs below and if anyone can say it is that would be awesome. I honestly do not know to much about PC sooo...Ya

# 2.0 GHz AMD Turion X2 Dual-Core RM-70 Processor

# 4096 MB PC5300 DDR2 SDRAM, 200 GB (5400 RPM) Hard Drive (SATA), ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 with 256 MB DDR

# DVD SuperMulti Drive with Labelflash, Atheros 802.11b/g wireless-LAN

# Windows Vista Home Premium

Ya i just kind of copied and posted the specs most of what is above me is gibberish.

First time I ever did the chieftain it was on the increased difficulty oath, I didn't bring hooks because I had never done it before and only 1 person in our team of 4 had brought hooks. We got him down to about half a health bar and he killed one of out players, I was out of feathers along with the rest of the team so we couldn't res him, then he proceeded to kill me, so we ended up finishing him with only 2 people alive. The next time I successfully did it, I brought hooks, it was on the 13 minute oath, and we breezed through it. Then the other day I did it again with no oath, with only me and 1 other person. He didn't have hooks but I did, we got him down to about 3/4ths of his last health bar before I ran out of hooks, so I picked up rocks and threw at him while the other guy fought and dodged him, was super easy, neither one of us died at any point.

OH! and I forgot to ask, How would I be able to sign up for using a Mic to be able to talk to my team mates instead of typing too them. I think it would be far easier to do Boss fights that way. I have a mic and head phones, I have just have never signed up for something like Team Speak before.

does he have less hp bars with less people?

everytime i fight him he has 5. just kinda confused here. usually i haven't seen him lose so much hp from just one person's worth of hooks chain chaining him.

i think the link for mumble download should be in the OP. set up of mumble is easy, and then input the server info under new server or w/e.

when logging into the server for the first time it will ask something about a certificate. just allow it to make a new one.

when first logged in it might look like you are in the same channel as everyone else, but you are not. you'll need to click on the channel i think it's called vindcitus something or other. you should see me smeltn novaru and bei in there.

Also guys do not get turned off if you are a lower level. We have quite a few people with limited play time that are still at lower levels so you WILL have someone to run missions with.

Also the cool part about this game is there is actual rewards/oaths' for the upper level people to run instances with the lower level people, so it still makes it worth while. Not counting the fact that myself, tree, nova and beii are all willing to help anyone out when we can.

@Scarlet, I am on mumble right now on my phone so you can test it if you would like. Tree said exactly how to set it up, its very easy, just follow the steps after install. Link to download is in the first post as well as the server information. Again I am sitting in the channel on my phone so you can test if needed.

Yes, in a full party he has 5, but with only 2 people he only has 3 (possibly 4, not positive), either way, I think all bosses health adjusts based on number of people. I do know that he was almost dead by the time I ran out of hooks, and the other guy didn't bring hooks, so I just smashed maybe 4-5 rocks over his head before we killed him (which wasn't even a full health-bar worth of damage to finish him off).

EDIT: And thats with me missing about 4 hooks over the duration of the fight too, if I hadn't missed any we would have killed him before I ran out of hooks.

Also keep in mind that the other player constantly attacked and dodged him, even when he was not hooked down, the other guy was doing some continuous damage to him and dodging his hits.

best way to play with us is idle in mumble in your play time until you see people come in and start talking and whatnot.

we were up to 6 people online last night iirc when i logged off. which is enough for 2 and a half groups.

Meh, I have somewhat of a phobia with talking to new people online via voice chat. To the point that I played TF2 for about 8 months before I ever spoke a word via voice chat, now, whenever I play TF2 I pretty much always use voice chat for team-relevant information.

yeah it takes a while to get into voice chat. i find being drunk helps in new vent servers XD but usually in new guilds in mmo's i don't talk much at first until i get used to people a bit more.

but i've been using voice chat in most games i play for like 7 years now. at one time i used to be the only person on my cs team that ever used voice chat, but by the time i quit there was a lot of voice chat users in that game.
