how to make enlightenment run

Recommended Posts

i have installed enlightenment for the first time - but how do i start it?

can i set it to start by default when i startx? or do i have to use the enlightenment equivalent of kdm/gdm?

any help would be greatly appreciated, as i have absolutely zero experience of running x on anything apart from gnome/kde...

hmm... so do i need gnome or kde installed to run enlightenment? and what exactly is a failsafe session, because i only have twm installed (the butt-ugly x default) and if i go into that, i get a "bash: enlightenment: command not found" error.

nope, those suggestions i made were for if you allready had gdm or kdm installed.

it should run when you type enlightenment and have it properly installed, or at least say another window manager running or something like that. it might also be e16 or e17 or maybe something else like someone mentioned. try using an absolute path also (starts with /)
