Batman 3 "The Dark Knight Rises"

With all this talk about Catwoman, people seem to be missing the very big detail that Anne Hathaway was cast as "Selena Kyle" and "not" Catwoman. Sure, they might use that to throw us off, but honestly, I'd be surprised if "Catwoman" is actually in the movie for any significant amount of time. But hey, it's all just speculation anyway I guess.

Yeah, could be a Two-Face kind of thing where Catwoman is just in it toward the end.

Here's an interview with Nolan's cinematographer, Wally Pfister talking about Hathaway in the Catwoman costume, confirming that she'll play more than just Selina Kyle

Christopher Nolan's cinematographer Wally Pfister has answered a few questions posed by Bleeding Cool writer Brendon Connelly as part of the Kevin and Josh Movie Show and the comments have now hit the web, hinting that we will, indeed, see Anne Hathaway suit up as Catwoman next summer in The Dark Knight Rises (as opposed to just appearing as Selina Kyle).

"Yeah.. She's phenomenal," said Pfister when asked if he shot the Catwoman screentest, "This is something she wanted and wanted to show Chris, 'I'm the one for this job' and she did an incredible job... and she looked phenomenal in the wardrobe. It's going to be amazing with her."

Later, Connelly tried to clarify that the test did, indeed, involve Catwoman and not just Selina Kyle, but was unable to achieve confirmation.

"I'll get fired and I won't even get to shoot the picture!" Pfister laughed, "I can't really [say], but I definitely want to be around next year."

Pfister also addressed various rumors, including shooting down the idea that any the production would take place in New Orleans and also commented on the recent internet rumor that Robin Williams would be joining the cast in the part of Hugo Strange.

"I haven't even heard that," he said, genuinely surprise, "Look, they have to keep a lot of secrets from me anyway... I don't really know. They can turn around and surprise me, too. When I saw the list of girls that we were going to be screen-testing before they cast Anne, I didn't know myself who was real and who wasn't until about two days before the test..."

Deadline has confirmed something that has been suspected for some time ? Joseph Gordon-Levitt is in talks to reunite with his Inception director Christopher Nolan in The Dark Knight Rises. No one knows what role he will play, but rumor sites have been suspecting that Hugo Strange is part of the threequel story. Before there was even a screenplay, the rumor-mill pegged Levitt as The Riddler? but that seems too obvious a choice for Nolan. Other early rumors had JGL replacing the departed Heath Ledger as The Joker, but Nolan has gone on record saying that The Joker would not be recast and or appear in the new film. Also, with Bane and Selina Kyle (aka Catwoman) already announced, it seems unlikely that the film would involve a third villain.

Except James Franco can't act.

Nolan likes people who can act.

Really? So I'm guessing Katies Holmes' Nipples deserve an oscar for their numerous appearances in Batman Begins?

Also, does JGL mean moar batmans? Or likely spinoffs ?

    • Apple CEO Tim Cook confirms looming price hikes due to memory shortages by Hamid Ganji Image via Apple Memory and chip shortages have led to significant price increases for electronics over the past year, and it seems that more hikes are on the way for upcoming smartphones and computers. Apple CEO Tim Cook has confirmed that the company is planning to increase the prices of some of its products due to the ongoing memory and storage shortages. In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Cook confirmed the looming price hikes for Apple’s future products, adding that “Unfortunately, price increases are unavoidable.” He also said the company is doing its best to “mitigate the huge increases that are being passed to us, and we’ve been trying to shield our customers from the increases, but the situation has become unsustainable.” The Apple CEO also noted that the allocation of a large portion of memory chips to AI companies has contributed to shortages in the market, resulting in lower supply at a time when demand for devices remains high. “We definitely need memory pricing and supply to return to reasonable levels for consumer products. That’s the bottom line,” Cook said. Cook also added that Apple is ready to use its vast cash reserves to help boost supply in the market because additional production capacity is needed. While he declined to specify how Apple plans to do that, he said the company will not build its own memory and storage factories despite its financial resources and silicon expertise. Cook did not provide further details on the scale of the price increases or which Apple products would be affected, though iPads and Macs could see higher prices sooner than other products. Apple’s next product launch event is scheduled for September, when the company is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and its first foldable iPhone. It remains unclear whether the upcoming iPhones will be affected by the price increases, but given the current memory shortage, higher prices seem increasingly likely. There is currently no clear timeline for the end of the memory shortage. Samsung, one of the world’s three largest memory chip manufacturers, recently said the shortage could persist for several more years.
    • Downloads does not equal actual usage, even less when the app is pre-installed in some Galaxy phones.
    • +1000 to this, don't understand why they added that margin around the top bar, even the close button is a PITA to click without aiming. Ofc, this is just preview and hopefully they will revert such odd UX decision before hitting final version.
