Batman 3 "The Dark Knight Rises"

nevermind it IS actually another trailer... just SAW it wow!

Warner Bros might as well put it up online early, to ease everyone's pain.

Can NEVER undertand the corps attitude in taking down videos while it is what generates buzz!

Well in this case they are prob hoping someone will go see the Sherlock movie to see the trailer. Just like to see the prolouge you have to goto some special IMAX theater...

You seemed to!

Nope:

I am not watching the opening sequence as it will, for me, ruin the movie.

I however, somehow want to watch the trailer.

But I may not watch it either. I am sooo hyped.

Did the same with Inception. Never saw the trailer until I saw the movie itself.

I dont know about russians but in a lot of countries it's common for people to use two first names. I have two first names for example.

Two first names isn't bad, but in the case I highlighted a first name is used as surname. It's definitely not common in Russia.

Damn, always late to the good stuff, guess i'll try and hunt it down online somewhere.

*Edit* Just saw it, quality is bad and the audio etc so it hurts the trailer, with a good HD version we'll get a real idea of things. Besides, trailers don't really do movies justice, some movies have good ones and are actually good but just as many (if not more) have good looking trailers but end up being average or below average movies (or just suck bad).

It's always better to just see the movie itself if you think you'll enjoy it.

It's all based on a comic book. There are way more things other than the names that are not very realistic. Seems a bit unnecessary to nitpick a characters name and how authentic it may or may not be.

What's wrong with making things authentic?

Nothing is wrong with it, but if you're going to blame someone, blame the person that created the character, not the movie maker. If you want to nitpick about names, just look at the main character "Bruce Wayne". Both "Bruce" and "Wayne" are first names. Just because it may not be common doesn't mean it doesn't (or won't ever) happen (I don't know anything about Russia or Russian names, just saying).

As I said in the initial post, I didn't know that it is based on a comics book character. English names are different though, because there is often a tendency to use first names for both name and surname. Russian is different though and I never met a Russian person whose name was constructed in such fashion. But enough of that, let's see that HQ trailer and a prologue in the cinema.

Yup. Here in the Midwest many locales are named after Revolutionary War General "Mad" Anthony Wayne; Wayne County MI (contains the Detroit metro area), Wayne MI (city in Wayne Co.), Fort Wayne (historic fort outside Detroit), Fort Wayne Indiana, etc etc. Gen. Wayne was a fascinating character.

"First" names as last names are far to common to make an issue of it, and more than a few owners of long Russian (and other nationalities) names have Americanized/Anglicized them by shortening, phoneticising or both to make the argument silly.

What's wrong with making things authentic?

I am all for authentic when it is appropriate sure. If they were authentic, Batman would be out of commission half the time as he would have a nasty case of jock itch as the groin area of the Bat Suit definitely would be a breeding ground for bacteria. LOL

I make a joke but I think you get my point, some comic books authenticity serves them well. Some it does not matter, and that is what makes them comic books. (Y)

I have no idea why this keeps happening to me but first the teaser didn't run in front of my showing of Harry Potter and tonight the full trailer did not run in front of my showing of Sherlock Holmes. Not to mention that The Hunger Games also just had a 30 second teaser even though the full trailer was released online over a month ago. I'm not sure if this is Warner Bros incompetence or that of the two different theaters I went to.

I think they found out you were there, so they cut it off

IGN posted this about the midnight showing of M:I 4, and mentioned why the prologue was shown in front of it, and not Sherlock Holmes, which is a WB movie. Basically, they had this to say:

However, since the WB film wasn't booked into IMAX, it missed out on pairing with its own Dark Knight Rises preview. As a result, the Bat-profits were plucked up by Paramount, giving them a considerable financial gain.

Edit: This seems to be specific to the IMAX versions of the movies, so I'm not sure about the traditional format.

They must be tracking me through foursquare.

Yeah I knew I wasn't going to get to see the prologue but a new trailer was suppose to be up in normal theaters as well I thought.

It's not fair we have to wait this long

I think I'm going to go into a drug-induced coma until July 19 at 11:59pm. :D

But seriously, great trailer. This trailer appears to be a little different from the one that played this weekend but great none-the-less.

    • All versions is correct. The bug appears on any version of Windows with KB5094126 installed. It's a little insane to expect the author to explain that systems that can't possibly have that patch installed, will not experience the bug. If you have any gripe about the title, it would be that it doesn't mention the update at all, but I wouldn't agree with that either. A title is not expected to be a full summery of the article.
    • (Can't see if he's still wearing the clompy clown shoes though)
    • I'd say the first one failed to be as popular as Apple anticipated, but the easy adjustment here is to make fewer of them next time around. It would only be a "flop" if it isn't possible for Apple to recover the design and factory tooling costs given the number of units sold, which I doubt would be the case. It isn't like no one bought them; it just failed to become the new hot phone of the year.
    • You're right that it does not follow the plain meaning of the word, but in this context, it is a legal term defined in 49 U.S.C. Kind of how "wire fraud" laws apply even if a physical wire was not used. Given that it is codified in law, and it isn't just automotive journalists that don't understand evolving technology, I highly doubt congress would change a well understood term just because technology makes the term slightly less actuate.
