hotmail delivery status and DNS related issue

Recommended Posts

Hi folks,

I am using hotmail a/c with my customize email id ( eg [email protected] ) . This setup is made possible by adding MX record , so i did it but deleted all other records . so i like to ask will this is effecting the late email delivery path . i am getting emails which is delayed by 1-2 days .

So , will this problem can be solved?

Well, that website doesn't even load... and according to mxtools it doesn't have any MX records.. http://mxtoolbox.com/SuperTool.aspx?action=mx:www.paritosh.in

maybe you should show us your domain control panel DNS section, so we can see what you've set.

I still can't get anything from mxtools, which has never failed me before; that'd point towards something seriously messed up with your DNS. Can you post a screenshot of your domain control panel DNS section? We can take a look and see if its all ok..

nslookup

paritosh.in MX preference = 10, mail exchanger = 957868071.pamx1.hotmail.com

So who is sending you mail that you know it gets kicked back?? Is it from a legit mailserver? What exactly do the kickbacks say? Are you saying they can not find your mx record?

I just tried connecting and sending you a test message from the command line -- and I can tell you right now hotmail does not accept mail from dynamic IP address.. So depending on how your testing getting mail -- that might be your problem

Trying 65.54.188.109...

250 bay0-pamc2-f10.Bay0.hotmail.com (3.12.0.53) Hello [24.14.x.x]

mail from: [email protected]

550 DY-001 Unfortunately, messages from 24.14.x.x weren't sent. Please contact your Internet service provider. You can tell them that Hotmail does not relay dynamically-assigned IP ranges. You can also refer your provider to http://mail.live.com/mail/troubleshooting.aspx#errors.

So its not a dns problem for the general public -- it could be one for whatever is trying to send the email?? But a simple query for a mx record to your domain works just fine - but lets see one of these kickbacks?? What exactly does it say?
