DDR2 1200

I wanna get my system up to 4GB but i cant find this stuff anywhere...

The only DDR2-1200 I can find is over $120 and at that price im contemplating just buying a new board/proc/ram. Any comments about what i should do?

What CPU do you have? You can run either buy faster memory and match the speed, or buy slower memory and use a lower divider. It's up to you.

I thought ram speeds went like this:

DDR1: 200 - 400 MHz

DDR2: 400 - 800 MHz

DDR3: 800 - 1600 MHz

I have adata ddr2 1066, really solid memory, nice performance and runs cool

Thanks for the replies. The 1200 is the fasted my motherboard will support. How much difference would i have in speed if i bought some replacement 1066

Download CPU-Z and post back the Memory tab. That tells us the current frequency your memory is running.

anything over DDR2 800mhz is non-standard and usually you can only reach it with overclocking the ram

As stated above there is DDR2 memories with default speeds over 800

The screenshot shows your DDR2-1200 RAM is running at DDR2-800 speeds. This means you can purchase DDR2-800 memory for your upgrade.
