[Official] Football Manager 2011

To be honest I'm playing the demo and I'm not enjoying it. ?I want a game to at least be enjoyable, I'm fed up with all this player happiness, media talk and comments. ?The community is quite big and move fast, but I'm not so sure it's that nice. ?I want a nice light easy game to hop in and out of, just like CM. ?Sadly the depth of FM is putting me off.

I love FM11 so far been playing quite alot and I have got my West Ham team to 3rd in first season with some good freebies like Vassell and Kapo and selling ?9m of players. I did pay some big money for Paulo Henrique and its paid off so far!

... I just cant play this manager anymore :/ every year the same same things to do.. its so boring!!!!

I mean what could you ever change to make it better??? the answer is nothing!!! The graphics are good as they are and the gameplay is / was too...

There is simply nothing they could do so much better to make me buy this game again :/ its sad but its exactly like that...

Maybe next the should bring it on WII with whole new controls.. maybe i give it a shot then...

That is true, feature wise you struggle to see what else that can currently add. ?The only area I think that would be an improvement is the match engine, that is something that can be refined and tweaked and also graphics wise look can be improved, but that would only be possible with efficiencies and technological advances (ie new system specs)

They can still branch out to consoles, where the main problem is usability but to be honest I can't see why they force users to use a wireless mouse or pointing device and just re do the interface to make it easier to use, even the PC one makes me click too many times.

Also they should be looking to expand in current or new markets, as there is only so much you can do for one market.

I am dropping points now like a bitch :( lost a stupid game to Spurs and drew 1-1 with Liverpool but we were losing for majority of the game.

My defence is pretty bad and making stupid mistakes. You know you've got a bad defence when Jonathan Spector is your best defender

haha I loaned Rafael from Man Utd and he's rating at 7.7 after 20 odd games this season :D he's a star!

I am slightly keeping 3rd in EPL, 5 points clear of Arsenal in 4th!

So do you recommend this over FM 2009 and 2010?

I played both of those till the CD/DVD wore out so yeah I do it has playability for many many months!

I found Robert Green to be as poor in this game as in real life

i love soccer/football but whats better this or fifa ?

well Fifa you can play the team as in control the players and in FM you manage the club (buying players, renewing contracts etc)

but to answer your question....FM is my first love now

Perhaps he was talking about the notoriously ****ty FIFA Manager, I think I just answered his question by the way..

FM is the only real choice if you want to play a football sim game, the FIFA and CM games suck so bad that you'd want to put a bullet between your legs just to feel something other than disgust and "WTF".

oh yeah forgot about that game...for good reasons! :p

I haven't seen daylight in weeks thanks to this game.

Managed to get celtic to the semi final of the champs league, found some excellent young prospects. John spence in my game is a rock in defense, cisse is banging them in up front, found a couple decent midfielders too. I've invested so much time in scouting so far.

Easily the best FM yet

Haha. Yep he's been pretty bad for me too. Unfortunately the reserves aren't much better so i had to buy another keeper.

I also had a crazy experience with a player who i bought and seeing as he wasn't match fit i put him in the reserve team. Well he didn't like that and handed in a transfer request and wouldn't budge on his position. So i sold him in the same transfer window

Between this and Civ V it's any wonder i get sleep at all.

I had to speak to Carlton Cole and terminated his contract for ?1.9m :pinch:

Are you finding his finishing to be absolutely shocking as well?

oh god yeah, he got injured after 3 weeks and was out for 2 months and never got fit enough...he couldn't score at all! which is why I brought in Vassell in on a free and he's been firing them in

    • So they saved ton of money by using AI resulting in loss of crap load of money in recalls and expenses. Bravo. Management needs to be replaced by AI, not engineers.
    • Ditto that, I have a few Alexa devices around the house to control lighting and such for a disabled person I live with, and it shows a *lot* of ads on the display. The dots are simple but effective. A lot cheaper too.
    • Go for a Echo Dot or Pop instead. These Echo shows just advertise to you.

NetSpeedTray v1.3.3: The Updater Fix A stabilization release that repairs a critical regression in v1.3.2: the app shipped without OpenSSL, which silently broke every HTTPS request — including the built-in update checker (the "Could not check for updates" error many of you hit). This release restores it, hardens the build so it can't happen again, and fixes a startup crash plus four other reported bugs. Changes: Fixed update checking — Resolved a critical issue that prevented the app from checking for updates ("Could not check for updates"). Fixed startup crash with Auto-Cycling — The app no longer crashes on launch after enabling Cycle display mode. Fixed incorrect network speeds on 10GbE adapters — Multi-gigabit network cards now display speeds correctly instead of being stuck at 0. Improved color coding — Default color is shown when idle, and color/threshold changes now apply immediately without restarting. Fullscreen visibility fix — The widget now correctly stays visible over fullscreen apps when Keep Visible is enabled. Improved AMD Ryzen temperature detection — More reliable CPU temperature monitoring for Ryzen processors. Cleaner upgrades — Installer now removes outdated application files during upgrades, preventing DLL/version conflicts while preserving user settings. Improved stability — Fixed potential DLL loading issues by excluding critical OpenSSL and NumPy components from UPX compression. Better settings window — Scrollbars removed and layout improved for a cleaner experience. Localization improvements — Updated translations and completed missing UI text across all supported languages. More reliable releases — Added regression tests covering recent critical fixes, bringing the test suite to 196 passing tests.
