[Official] Football Manager 2011

Recommended Posts

I feel that this is less of a Football Manager 2011 thread and more of an alternate-universe successful West Ham journey.

haha true but...if more people contributed it would be awesome! :p plus theres a few hammers on here so...

I'm still playing the FM2010 - just finished the 2013/14 season, got England through to the World Cup Final, but lost 4-0 to Argentina (after beating Italy in the Quarters, and Brazil - the hosts, in the Semi-Final). Was soo gutted, that I resigned after. Spain have approached me, but I think I'm gonna stick with just managing Villa, as opposed to juggling a domestic team, and a national team.

yeah I did that and it got way to busy

I just whooped Southampton 12-0 in the EPL

If my wage money can't accomodate it, he doesn't get it.

Just tried getting Phil Jones from Blackburn and he wants 220,000 a week for his wages. WTF?!?!??!

I have run into that a fair bit but I think its mostly the agents doing

Which means a patch is needed :shifty:

'Fixed: Outrageous demands for player wages from agents, especially the small name ones'

then that ruins the fun :p tbh smaller clubs the agents shouldn't be asking for crazy money but if you are in the EPL then they will because you are in a high earning league

when I signed Pato on a free he asked for ?130k a week at first and I got it down to ?79k

http://thedugout.tv/community/ << that's an awesome community giving tips on who's awesome and who's not and also if you need help with anything!

I signed Pato and Diego for free's in the summer of 2012 :D and they are beasts!

Careful with TD as they will steal any content you make if you have a disagrement with them. There is a load of FM sites on 'The Scene' currently and TD is a bit low scale compared to others.

Miles Jacobson one of the original makers of the game was awarded an MBE for the New Year Honours

How did you do that? Did you slowly bring it down and keep suggesting it?

How did you do that? Did you slowly bring it down and keep suggesting it?

yeah I had like 5 go's at it before he accepted...what I think sealed it was the fact I added the clause "Match Highest Earner" which means he has a good chance of earning more

I started a season with Everton. Boy do they have a striker problem. I signed Christian Benitez and am relying on him and Jermaine Beckford who have both provided a lot of good runs, assists, and goals!

Everton's squad reminds me of Arsenal's. James Vaughn gets injured every time he steps onto the field (or into the weight room). It's unreal. I'll end up just selling him because he can't stay uninjured.

Allardyce took over once i left for At. Madrid. Needless to say, he's not doing as well as i did :)

My attacking line-up of Forlan. Suarez and Dzeko with Modric and Paulo Henrique (thanks for that Rappy!) playing behind them is doing really well right now.

my team who is leading the EPL by 17 points atm :D

might quit West Ham end of season though 3 league titles I think is enough, it's getting boring...maybe aim for Spain or France

LOL OMG Dzeko, Hernandez, Pjanic, Rafael, Bale and Vidic at West Ham - oh man thank god it's FM not reality

    • Why would any self-respecting intelligent person follow any recommendation by Donald's GOP administration? With almost two years of fabrications, deceit, and blatantly illegal behavior, why believe them now? They had best be gone after the November 2026 election, so we'll wait and see.
    • AltSendme 0.4.1 by Razvan Serea AltSendme is a minimal, cross-platform application designed for fast, secure, and private peer-to-peer file transfers. It allows users to send files or entire directories directly between devices without relying on cloud servers, accounts, or any personal information. Everything is encrypted end-to-end using modern protocols like QUIC and TLS 1.3, ensuring both strong security and low-latency performance. Transfers are verified with BLAKE3 for data integrity, and interrupted downloads automatically resume, making the experience reliable even on unstable connections. You can transfer anything—images, videos, documents, and more. Integrity checks are performed on both ends, so your files are automatically verified for correctness during both sending and receiving. AltSendme works seamlessly across local networks or long-distance links, capable of saturating multi-gigabit connections for extremely fast delivery. With built-in NAT traversal and encrypted relay fallback, it connects devices almost anywhere. The app integrates with the Sendme CLI and will soon support mobile and web platforms. Fully free and open-source, AltSendme offers a lightweight, privacy-first alternative to traditional cloud-based services, removing size limits, upload costs, and unnecessary data exposure. AltSendme 0.4.1 changelog: Release Highlights Self-hosted relays: Run your own iroh relay so transfers don't rely on public infrastructure. Includes a full deployment template in deploy/relay/ with Docker Compose for a VPS and configuration examples for production use. Fly.io support: One-click deploy template for Fly.io, including a quick-start config (fly.dev.toml) for testing without a custom domain, plus production setup with Let's Encrypt and your own hostname. Relay settings UI: New Settings → Network panel to choose how AltSendme connects: automatic public relays, custom self-hosted URLs (with optional auth token), or disabled. Test connections, verify latency, and see live relay status in the footer. Disable relays: Turn off relay servers entirely when you only need same-network transfers (e.g. LAN). Direct connections only. No relay hop required when devices can reach each other. Android graduates from beta: Android is now part of the regular release cycle alongside desktop. APKs ship with each version (universal, arm64, and armv7). • You are mostly right about the ephemeral nature of it. As I mention in the article, if you dont add a second device or take a backup of your account before uninstalling it, then yes you will lose access to your account. That said, in terms of actual user experience when you sync multiple devices your message history carries across and there's also a Saved Messages chat like there is on Telegram to send messages and attachments between your installs. But yh, what you point out are correct and its not trying to emulate Messenger or Telegram.
    • OK so SearXNG is a meta search engine that you can install locally or use via a public instance. It scrapes other search engines which you choose and then sorts the results. Not as complicated as multiple relays
