I was watching my brother today, at the very end of the game when your on the Throat of the World when everything was happening, 3 thugs ran up the mountain and tried killing him... it was hilarious to watch

when I was on the phone a dragon started attacking me, shadowmere killed it!

I don't like Lydia because she's a do-gooder. I need someone who doesn't mind

my thieving, murderous ways. :)

Lydia seemed to be pretty chill when I

when I killed the emperor

So I went and got Uthgerd from Whiterun and took her to the same bandit field, with my Dragonplate and what not on her.... She got dropped in 3 hits, 2 from arrows. :(.

I found that companions are a waste of time more often than not. They're only really useful for some extra storage space. I'm 90% certain their stats don't scale with your level.

Well, damn. My light armor is at 68, and I have Dragonscale, but I feel like I get hit to hard. Maybe once I get it to 80 and have the other % perks things will change. I also need to enchant it with magic resist eventually, but I don't feel its tempered enough and once I enchant it I can't modify it without picking up that perk in smithing, which isn't in my level plan. :(

I agree.

Only thing I'm looking forward to is a game without a crap ton of bugs, but sadly, I don't expect this to ever change. :/

^ Me, a year ago. Boy was I wrong!

Anyway, I've been playing the absolute **** out of this game. Level 40 right now, full on Nord warrior heavy armor badass, going sword and board. Loving the hell out of my Power Bash, as it's fun as hell being able to have control over a fight when you can stagger/kill your enemies with your shield alone. I only wish I could dual wield shields lol!

Been curious lately with the whole Stormcloaks vs. Imperials arguments I've seen lately. What side did you choose?

I personally haven't even joined a side yet, but I'm planning on going with the Imperials for a few reasons. I know, it isn't exactly the "Nord" thing to do, but it just seems ass backward to side with the Stormcloaks. I mean, the ban of Talos worship doesn't seem so bad in comparison to outright racism and violence that would pursue from Stormcloak rule. On top of this, if the Imperials control the trade routes throughout the provinces, wouldn't a war cut them off from these supply lines? How is Skyrim supposed to stand strong against the Thalmor then without resources and after dealing with a civil war?

I'm just approaching this from a logical standpoint though. Don't really care about rewards or the fun factor of the Stormcloak quests (at least, not on this play through).

Finally managed to get good crossfire performance. I have 2x 6950's in crossfire. What I did:

- Add "iPresentInterval=0" to Skyrim.ini (NOT SkyrimPrefs.ini) to the bottom of the [Display] section

- 1920x1200 with the Ultra preset (with 1 change, under Advanced set Shadows to High instead of Ultra if you have a weaker CPU)

- Rename TESV.exe to fallout3.exe

Launch game by double clicking fallout3.exe (not through the launcher). I get a easy 100ish average FPS outside in the wilderness with no noticeable drops. Also a major benefit that I've noticed is that the mouse lag is gone while playing. With just 1 card it was still there even with vsync disabled.

I am just starting on One handed after just super-equipping Lydia and having her tank for my bow.

The last archery perk is absolutely amazing. 1/10 times you'll freeze an enemy as if you use Ice Form. Except there's a catch - You can attack them in that state! I've taken to paralyzing them and whacking them as much as I can with Dawnbreaker to train one handed.

Also: Do buy the home in Markarth! I love it.

Pardon my ignorance but what is 'tanking'?

A tank is basically a character that has defence and health prioritised above all else, and their purpose is to have the enemies attack them for as long as possible.. so then other weaker characters can stand a chance.

Dunno why you'd bother with these tactics in Skyrim though.

Finally finished AC Revelations and Saints Row 3. So i'm going to jump back in to Skyrim. Going to spend some time to get some decent weapons and armour. While i get through most battles. Some of them i feel i should have killed them a lot quicker and if i met that monster again i would probably die.

Bump.

Hey I need some help,

If you're wearing the shrouded boots which say "wearer is muffled and moves silently" does that mean that rings of sneaking and the shrouded cowl which also improves sneaking make no difference?

Also what of the muffled silent movement perk, does that mean that shrouded boots, rings and such also make no difference and thus can be sold?

Bump.

I think they are 2 different things. For example if you're wearing heavy armor it makes more noise while sneaking. The ones that increase your actual sneak skill just increase the chance that you won't be detected.

And I would guess that it would make those accessories redundant.

I think they all stack to some extent (the different mechanics that is), everything that increases sneak and what not, basically increases your sneak level by that percent. Which makes it harder for enemies to detect you. Things like muffled movement I am not sure about, enemies never seem to hear me with muffled boots, which seemingly makes the silent movement stealth perk seem pointless (though if I had t he perk I could use different boots), but looking up the boots on the wiki, it seems different muffled effects have different hidden values, which would imply that some are better than others, I simply don't know enough about how sneak works in this game to be certain though.

EDIT: As far as companions, my Lydia never died when I dragged her around with me. She would often get hit so much and fall down to her knee, but unless they are attacked a bit after that, they don't die (AI seems to try to ignore anyone on their knee, only way they get hit is if they are in the crossfire of the enemy and whoever it is attacking next). But being stealth based, she got detected way too easily for me.

Be careful with that theory...

I've heard that if you don't have the Perk, then any weapon or armor which you

make better with smithing and then add a magical enchantment to will lose the

Smithing bonus you gave it.

Eek. So I guess I should go ahead and invest a point into Arcane Smithing? I based my level plan on hitting level 50, though, I know it goes higher, I just don't know how difficult it is, as people say.

what settings do you guys play skyrim on? i tried ultra and get like 1 fps, got an i7 950 6GB ram ati 6870 which kinda seems strange

2560x1600, everything as high as it will go except AA which is at 8x, if I make it higher it screws the graphics up.. think it's an Nvidia driver issue.

1920x1200, Ultra.....I get around 50 FPS average, in heavy fog though that can drop down to around 20. For some reason (I think it's related more to my system than the game), I get spikes every now and then where for about 5-10 seconds, the game runs at about 10 FPS and is virtually unplayable for the duration. I also get times where the game will freeze for 5 seconds or so (typically when initiating a conversation with an NPC, but it happens in combat sometimes).

My system is an i7-970 with 24 GB of ram, and an AMD 6950.

That being said, I can't really complain about the perfromance, it's generally great, but I have some odd issues that I would attribute to my system before saying it's the games fault.

Creating diagrams in the desktop app doesn’t need an internet connection. This is useful when you are disconnected or when you must create diagrams in a highly secure environment, where data protection is of the utmost importance. When you use the draw.io desktop app, your diagrams will be stored on your local device. Because this is a stand-alone application, also designed to run offline, there are no interfaces to cloud storage platforms available. Of course, you can still store your diagrams in folders that are synchronised to your cloud storage if you wish. Easy-to-use diagram editor The draw.io apps work just like the office and drawing tools you are used to using. Drag and drop shapes from the shape libraries and drag to draw connectors between them. Drag connectors to add waypoints and set a precise shape and position, or let them reroute automatically. Double click and start typing to add a label to anything. • Microsoft will soon allow some users to block Copilot from analyzing their Office files by Usama Jawad Microsoft Purview is a pretty useful data governance, security, and management service that allows customers to gain enhanced visibility and control over their content. It's meant for commercial customers, such as organizations that are storing data at scale. As AI continues to expand and infiltrate every corner of a firm, many are a bit conscious about the technology gaining access to their confidential data. Microsoft is now making a configuration change that will allow such customers to rest easy. Right now, users within an organization have the option to apply Purview sensitivity labels (when available) to secure certain files and label them as such. For example, if you apply the "Confidential" label on an Excel file, the file will be encrypted, and a "confidential" watermark will be applied to it. So, if this file is shared with anyone, they are aware that its access is supposed to be restricted. Up until now, Microsoft was allowing some connected experiences, like its AI services, to analyze files, regardless of their sensitivity label. This is of major concern to most organizations, as a recent example highlighted how confidential emails with data loss prevention (DLP) policies like privacy labels were being uploaded to Copilot for analysis. As such, Microsoft is updating an existing Purview data label sensitivity setting that prevents "some connected experiences that analyze content", from being blocked completely from doing this. The label isn't changing, but the blocking is now being enforced across all connected services (including Copilot and other AI tools), and now extends to Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Files with the label applied already will get this enhancement automatically too once it becomes available. Microsoft has urged IT admins to inform their respective helpdesk and compliance teams, update internal documentation, and review sensitivity labels to ensure that they meet their respective compliance needs. This change is tagged as MC1297982 in the Message Center. General availability is scheduled to begin in a phased manner soon and will complete by the end of next month. That said, it is important to note that this only applies to commercial customers who have a license that allows them to use Purview.
