Well, I just killed one of my graphics cards on Skyrim..

I put the AA upto 8 times on my Nvidia 250s, (It was handling 4 just fine), and all of a sudden I see pink streaking and then the monitor cuts out... I reboot.. and there are pink lines going everywhere on the desktop.

I plug the monitor I'm on now into one card, it works fine, take it out, plug it into the other card, it works fine.. plug in both monitors at the same time and it goes haywire and starts streaking on the secondary monitor. :/

Looks like all the money I've been saving for like six weeks is going to be spent on Black Friday for a new graphics card when it WAS going to be spent on the steam sale. :(

Damn it, I'm getting a persistent CTD in Bonechill Passage or whatever it's called.

Folks over at gamespot suggested to either wait a couple of (what I assume to be in-game-) hours and try again, or just quickly run to the next "room" while looking down.

Annoying :(

Same here. Waiting x hours does nothing for me. But I'll try that looking down thing.

No idea how to do it, dont own game, but figured people would be interested? Aparently all of morrowind is in Skyrim, got to use no clip though

Have you guys tried changing sound settings to fix the crashes? If not:

  1. Go to Start > Control Panel > Sound.
  2. In the Playback tab, right-click on Speakers (or whatever has a green tick next to it), then click Properties.
  3. In the advanced tab on the properties window, select 16 bit, 44100Hz (CD Quality) in the drop down menu.

I crashed 4 times in a row the first time I went to Dawnstar, after doing the above I loaded in, went to Dawnstar, and didn't have a problem.

V-Sync might have something to do with it.

I forced it off using NVIDIA's control panel but I'm not 100% sure it's that, because I also played with some other options there.

It fixed it, by the way :)

Well the sound-thingy-fixy worked for me when I crashed on game start, like the first ever menu that you see CTD.

Crashes while playing was a first to me, and I already fixed it.

Check that out, in short, they modeled in the entire Tamriel landmass into this game. It is not an exact replica of the previously used areas in earlier games, but after 200 years (after Oblivion), the land can be expected to change to some extent. So far, it is completely un-used, and nobody knows whether it will be used in future DLC. But either way, modders will be able to use this area as they please when the proper tools arrive, hugely expanding what can be done in mods (in theory, someone could re-create all of Oblivion, Morrowind, etc, in Skyrim through a mod). They could even create fully custom content in every way (towns, caves to explore, etc).

Check out 'Tamriel Rebuilt' for an attempt at rebuilding the whole landmass which has been going on for a few years now ... http://tamriel-rebuilt.org/ ..

I don't know how current they are with the release of Skyrim though ...

Looks cool, cant play it though, dont own skyrim

Thinking about getting the game, but still undecided? Check this out:

yea ok iv decided, im getting it, either by victor of the giveaway thread or regular, im gettign it

Well, damn. My light armor is at 68, and I have Dragonscale, but I feel like I get hit to hard. Maybe once I get it to 80 and have the other % perks things will change. I also need to enchant it with magic resist eventually, but I don't feel its tempered enough and once I enchant it I can't modify it without picking up that perk in smithing, which isn't in my level plan. :(

There's a black guy in Solitude that may join you in the palace with Tuilus. But I think you must first be accepted in the Imperial army. Though I never actually used him yet.

I found a rather annoying bug. I found a Frost Dragon and after I kicked its ass I cant consume its soul (nor its turn into skeleton). I thought it was a bug from using mehrune's razor (one hit kill) so I reloaded a saved game, used another weapon and the same thing. Any ideas?

PLEASE let it be future DLC. I never played Morrowind (was not into RPGs at the time) and I enjoyed Oblivion. I have a feeling it will be up to the modders to do anything with it...but I'll keep my 0.1% hope of proper DLC from Bethesda :)

Just completed the

drinking challenge in Whiterun.

anyone else done this yet? Made me giggle. Unfortunately I think I sold the

wedding ring

oops

The more I play this the more i realise how HUGE this game is, especially if, like me, you intend on 'tidying up' all the side missions before continuing with the main thread.

Never thought I would like this as I didn't really enjoy Fallout and wasn't overly impressed with Elder Scrolls.

Only got this game because I got so frustrated with Battlefield 3 and got a great deal to trade it in.

He's supposed to give you a staff for winning... but I didn't get it.

Bug maybe?

There's more to the quest than just winning the drinking game. You have to visit 3 or 4 different places, track down a wedding ring, break some bad news to a...lady..and journey through a dungeon.

Yes I got the staff (though I'm not a magic user so will go in my chest incase I use a Companion)

And that dungeon was tough! Killed my companion a couple of times. had to keep reloading

The Fire Wizard killed himself with the gate trap striking him while I was sweating, afraid, hidden in a room when I read QUEST COMPLETED.

EPIC ;)
