sorry guys, I have no internet at my house....construction workers cut the line by accident...I will have the internet up and running again monday for sure....until then...sorry.... .9 is finished....just need to upload it...and all my friends have gone to university already....so I am pooched for a bit...anyways....as soon as I get a connection I will release it...sorry all.

its ok unique, this is after all the first time your amazingly hectic life has thrown a curveball at you causing you to miss your own deadlines... oh wait no ti isnt, it happens EVERY time

Save to disk and upload elsewhere.

Sorry, figured someone had to get that snide remark out of the way quickly. :shifty:

no buddy is home for me to use their comps to upload.

Errr....sorry you are jealous of my hectic life....perhaps you should make some friends.

why cant you just copy the theme to floppy or cd or even dissect it to binary, write on your hand and compile it somewhere else? because you certainly seem to have no problems accessing the net to give out "smart" replies.

Also, i have a life, but i dont use it as an excuse to miss deadlines set by myself, if i cant do something, i dont say i will.

OMG what an ass... is just a visual style and his not under death penalty if he doesnt release it on time.

Good job Unique

unique, did you do anything to the "NormalStart" version? Could you give us a change log at least? Most of your (few) changes were done to the "Original" version and now the two versions are different altogether....chaotic progress is better than no progress I guess

um, the task bars are thicker.....what is changed in the compact that isn't in the original??

the VS looks wonderful, the start button looks wonderful, the shell looks great, my only tiny comment would be to maybe consider a white outline box around the min/max/close icons on mouse over. This will continue to be my VS...nothing can beat this...Thank you for all the hard work. :D ;)

The NormalStart version has the fugly fat title bars and the god awful content margins...and the arrows are still out of the "box" when you highlight an item in the "Original" version, but at least you fixed the content margins! But still, change log would be great so we can check out exactly what's new and changed since updates are few and far between.

And just so we get our terminology straight, compact version == original version.

i know its just a vs, its also a vs i dont use due to the fact that unique spends all his time going through this thread insulting people that arent 100% impressed with his actions. i dont care when he gets the theme out but i do care when he takes some crazy moral highground in the lunaIII thread then goes and proves exactly what we were all saying in that other thread.

dood...chill....rips is a rip. straight up.

Anyone still got the old Beta 0.8? I think I'm gonna switch back if I find it, since Beta 0.9 doesn't seem to bring any improvements, but has some changes that I don't really like..

First of all, the title bar is now left justified instead of centered as in .8

Secondly, it uses Arial size 8 for the titlebar instead of the old Verdana size 8. Verdana looked alot better than the current Arial in my opinion.

Thirdly, the title bar seems fatter too, but it changes size to become a bit too thin when I change the font back to Verdana. Weird behaviour.

I also do not see any improvements to the msstyle besides those changes that I don't really like. I am using the NormalStart version, BTW.

I wonder if you can reverse some of those changes back for the next version.

I will switch the font for caption bars back to verdana, but leave the it arial else where for caption sizing reasons.

I will look into the fatness.

And is centered what everyone wants?

Thanks! I can't wait for the next version!

This is one of the few visual style that I really like :D

If your internet went out, how did you post the numerous replies yet weren't able to upload the theme? You know, it's crap like this that annoys people about you, unique. You make one excuse after another. It's funny when people call your bluff. Your only reply is "chill out, it's only a theme."

Anyone want to make bets on what his next excuse will be? I'm going with "sorry guys. my dog ate the visual style"

Dunno about you, but where I live they have these things called LIBRARIES, and sometimes...SOMETIMES they let you on their computers to use the internet...unfortunately they don't allow you access to their disk drives...so perhaps you should use that thing in your skull next time you attempt a reply.

And my dog is dead. Thanks.

Like I said in my post on the previous page, it looks like hardly any of the changes went into the "NormalStart" version...did you just forget, unique? How about another update or did you find out you were one of the 200 something people that's getting sued by the RIAA and you'll be in a big court battle for a couple of months or so?

Kidding you man, just kidding you :p

dood, please be more specific, changes were made (so I thought) to both sub styles...this wasn't a big update....the next one will, gimmie a week or so, I have some other shiat to get done. ie. editting and another job to get. (I moved so I need to find a NEW job)

So yeah, 2 weeks is my projection...perhaps a few releases before then with small things...actually, yeah, look for something monday/tuesday, caption buttons perhaps... :D

Well, I personally like it to the left so it's not hidden behind my dock... The VS looks really good though now. I'm also a fan of a compact start menu too. Also, as said before, the spacing between the programs listed in "All Programs" is much to large. Other than that this VS seems perfect. Hopefully someone will take the time to do Winamp skins modeled after this, etc.

    • Does anyone here know if these updates are integrated into the UUP dump isos?

    • NVIDIA officially supports Ubuntu, as linked above with the GeForce NOW Hands on I did in collaboration with Paul Hill.
    • TO be clear I am not running linux today, however I keep thinking about it. And I want to make sure there are minimal obstacles if I decide to make that switch in the coming months.
    • Yes, I actually glossed over the Linux part from the OP. You could always go for a 9070 XT and if you really want to play Ray Traced games in the future, GeForce Now is pretty damn good on Linux https://www.neowin.net/news/nvidias-native-geforce-now-app-for-linux-bridges-the-gaming-gap-hands-on/
