Well, I personally like it to the left so it's not hidden behind my dock... The VS looks really good though now. I'm also a fan of a compact start menu too. Also, as said before, the spacing between the programs listed in "All Programs" is much to large. Other than that this VS seems perfect. Hopefully someone will take the time to do Winamp skins modeled after this, etc.

can you pls hit me up with a screeny about the all programs bug...i dont get it on my comp...so hit up a screeny and all will be taken care of. :D

Change the style to "NormalStart" and open the "All Programs" menu...should be there. You corrected it in the "Original" version.

VS is looking great so far. Here are a few suggestions however:

I like how in the original all the title bars are thinner but I don't like having the Star Menu being cut down in width. So maybe have an option for both ways... Thinner title bars and a full start bar.

Only other thing is in the control panel and when browsing files it looks like the default windows classic scheme on the left side with the "File and Folder Tasks", "Other Places" and "Details" Maybe if you made these more colorful to match the rest of the theme... Make them blue and add some effects like you have on the title bars, changing the bottons as well and for the Control Panel make it more like the Windows XP Luna type with the blue background and large graphic in the bottom right.

This just keeps getting better! Keep up the great work!

started using this, like it ... found a small bug in mIRC though

http://www.destroyed.us/images/mircbug.jpg

the colors on the left hand side shouldn't be there :)

I've been using this VS for quite some time, and that purple colour appeared right after I upgraded my mIRC from 6.03 to 6.1. It isn't supposed to be there? I thought it was some new mIRC feature! :p

Ah Unique, this VS is not improving at all man... The fonts are too small, caption buttons are tiny, caption rollover color is much too blue, taskbar buttons are too thin, and the tabs are ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE, thats just to name a few! Sorry dude, but this has to be said. I, along with others, think this should be passed into more capable hands... No personal offence intended, but you just don't have what it takes.

i think unique is doing a great job, HyakuMan has no clue what a good VS looks like. I LIKE THE THIN TASKBAR, THE FONTS ARE FINE, CAPTION BUTTONS ARE FINE....HyakuMan dude, just shut up if you don't personally like the VS, others do...so deal with it.

That's neanderthal, by the way.

I've read tens of thousands of posts relating to VS development/feedback, here and at other sites. I have yet to stumble across a more hostile thread than Luna 2 Reborn (I include Luna 3 in this too). A substantial portion of the feedback in this thread is inappropriate and a substantial portion of the author's responses have been inappropriate.

The theme is great hands down --it needs a bit more work but really minor stuff. The problem here is not the theme though, it's the ongoing critical conversation which is constantly fueled and resulting attention it's attracted. 22,000+ views of this nonsense bickering? Are you kidding me?

This VS displays a well done artistic mod of the XP desktop. This thread on the other hand, brings out the ugly in Neowin.

Spellchecker!!!!!

I agree that this thread is not bringing out the best...and I just want to get it done...bugs are almost finished. Working on getting the caption buttons just right, then on to the shellstyle....I wont have time in the next 2 days...starting my new job!!! But once I get settled, I will have the time.

Thanks for your support guys!

    • Thanks for liking it! 😊 That's Arch Linux with Gnome.
    • LOL. Can't even quote and edit a comment correctly. Figures you're a Linux user.
    • It won't perform hugely better than the 3080 unless you're VRAM limited in games. Have you tried putting new thermal pads on them 3080 and giving it a good clean to see if you can regain your temps and overclock?
