Can you create a Ghost image from a VDI file?

Question

I was wondering if it's possible to create a Ghost image from a VirtualBox machine, and how.

So far, I've found nothing that explains how to achieve the above.

Also, if it is possible, will it work with Windows 7?

So far my experience with Ghost and Windows 7 has been, to say the least, quite dreadful resulting in a BSOD which had to be solved by modifying the registry values for the hard-drives.

Thanks in advance!

the easiest way is to use a version of ghost that is capable of bare metal restore, then while in the image take the image of the drive. The newer versions (well at least acronis) will take an image while the host is booted up, acronis also has universal restore which is a bare metal restore. Not sure if virtual box supports boot from a host cd, but if it does then you can boot that instance with a boot disk and take an image that way, or pxe boot it.

but to answer your question, with the right imaging technology, yes it is possible.
