23rd James Bond Movie Officially Announced!

Casino Royale was great, didn't understand anything of the whole story of Quantum of Solace though. Shame they killed Vesper, I liked her (in a non-sexual way).

I liked her in a highly sexual way :shifty:

I got tired of seeing bond having stupid gadgets like a Grill inside his watch and a Sauna inside the lining of his pockets and constant one liners that made your teeth stand on end...bleugh.

If they can repeat Casion Royale then i'll be happy. Straight to the point, no nonsense neck breaking gun slanging mo'fo.

Hopefully more Casino Royale and far far less Quantum of Solace.

This.

Casino Royale is definitely one of the best Bond films in the series, and it also has in my opinion, the best Bond theme as well as the best opening. :)

I still think Goldeneye is the best Bond film of the lot, but I don't want to see Daniel Craig's Bond turn into the classic Bond, because I think it'd be too inappropriate for him. Pierce Brosnan (my favourite Bond :) ) was so good at the classic Bond; suave personality, and could pull off the cheesiest puns without making you cringe. :p

I much prefer Dniel Craig after watching a documentary about the agents of the time that the James Bond character is based on, Daniel Craig's portayal is much more accurate to the types of people who would have really done this kind of thing

Which documentary? Please do tell!

I for one, like Craigs portrayal

It was a documentray on The History Channel or Discovery about Ian Fleming and the person he based James Bond on (during WW2) quite interesting!

I don't know why people slam Quantum of Solace so badly. I think it's fine film. It's Beautifully shot and really well edited too.

I might watch again tonight to verify it, but from what I remember the story is chaotic and doesn't make much sense.

+1 I love "You Know My Name".

According to Deadline Javier Bardem has been offered a starring role alongside Daniel Craig in Bond 23. No details have been revealed as to whom he will play, but given this is the first major casting news it is likely to be the villain. Bardem played a villain in his Oscar-winning turn in No Country For Old Men two years ago so he?s no stranger to this type of role.

Earlier this week Judi Dench confirmed her return, and said she couldn?t wait to get working with Craig again and new director Sam Mendes (Road to Perdition, Jarhead). The script for Bond 23 has been written by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade and John Logan, and a release date of November 9, 2012 has been set.

If Javier Bardem accepts the offer to play the potential villian we should be hearing casting news on the next Bond girl soon, and maybe they?ll announce the official title.

Ralph Fiennes is rumored to be in talks to join Bond 23.

The Daily Mail is currently circulating the rumor that Fiennes' reps are in discussions with the film?s producers and director Sam Mendes. If the reports turn out to be legit and they come to an agreement, he?d play a ?darkly complex? character. There are not any further details available now.

That might seem to conflict with previous reports stating that Javier Bardem was offered the movie?s bad guy role. The tabloids rumor does state that this is a different part from Bardem?s. It's possible that his character could be a mix of good and bad. This is likely just another fake story from the tabloid. We'll keep you posted as the story develops.

It's not the most awesome bond movie, but it beats any Brosnan movie witht he guy being all playboy and no agent. yeah, bond is a playboy, but he's a playboy with style and also an agent. Brosnan was all playboy and little else.

but it was an enjoyable movie, but didn't feel to much like a bond movie though.

My Reasons why QOS let Casino Royale down:

Opening, The really good on foot chase scene vs a very average car chase which switched viewing angles way to much you couldn't tell what has happening a lot but doesn't ruin a movie clearly it was OK.

The Music, compared to Casino Royale opening it already put my mood down, the songs just not James Bond which is suppose to be strong and charming not loud and screaming.

The plot, it was so dragged out and expanded it really made it hard to remember and average. It was dull as well because he is motivated by revenge which again is so average how many films is the good guy motivated by revenge ?

Boring, it was boring overall I seen it in the Cinema and I still felt bored they focused to much on the plot trying to make it really expansive and huge but there wasn't a lot to actually happen thus making it boring.

It's an average action film which = one of the worst bond films.

Brosnan ruined the franchise for me. Craig was never a good choice for Bond, ut would be like putting Jason Statham in the role. He should stick to things like Layer Cake as he is far better suited into those type roles. It almost feels to me like Casino Royale and QoS were nothing but attempts to steal some of the Jason Bourne film's thunder buy throwing out all the humorous parts that made Bond films what they are.

I thought Pierce was great as Bond. He wasn't the best when it came to action but he was entertaining. Craig is much better, reminds me of Connery (blonde hair aside). Neither of them ruined the series as they are both great actors. The blame falls on the directors and screenwriters. The last few Pierce movies really blew, much like QoS. However GoldenEye and Casino Royale were some of the best.

I'm really looking forward to Bond 23. They need to keep it character driven and not action driven. All the action sequences in QoS seemed forced and unnecessary. Most notably the plane sequence. The action in Casino Royale and GoldenEye were perfect. They drove the story further without unnecessary violence. The free-run sequence at the beginning of Casino Royale is one of my favourites of all time. Hopefully Sam Mendes can recapture some of Martin Campbell's bond magic. He's easily my favourite director from the series.

    • Limited time Prime Day deal cuts price of this Hisense 65" 4K smart TV in half by Ivan Jenic It’s Amazon Prime Day, and brands are offering great deals to consumers. One of the best deals of the day is definitely this Hisense 65" U7, which is currently $799.99 on Amazon, down from $1,499.99. That's nearly 50% off and $700 saved on this feature-packed 4K TV (purchase link down below). The U7 uses Mini-LED backlighting with up to 3,000 local dimming zones and up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness. That means blacks are truly deep and highlights are punchy enough to hold up even in bright rooms. The screen is covered with a dual-layer anti-reflection coating, which prevents the afternoon overhead lights from washing the picture. For gaming, the native 165Hz refresh rate and VRR 330 support make this one a great TV option for PS5 and Xbox Series X. The TV even features a native game mode, which should help minimize the input lag for a better gaming experience. Audio is handled by a 2.1.2 channel system tuned by Devialet, which is a notable partnership for a TV at this price. Additionally, Dolby Vision IQ, Dolby Atmos, and IMAX Enhanced are all supported. It runs Fire TV with Alexa+ built in. So, if you’re looking for a sharp, large screen to watch the World Cup on, the U7 at this price is definitely an attractive option. Speaking of which, Hisense is the official sponsor of the World Cup, which should mean absolutely nothing to you, and isn’t the reason why you should by this TV. The reason why you should buy it is that it’s “la bella televisione, HDTV-compatible, beautiful,” and available at half the price. • Re: Capitalism. It's just 1 of dozens of economic models currently-adopted worldwide; most national models separate money from politics thereby limiting the influence wealth carries over the economy (due to limited tentacles wealth politics has over the broader economy). The "American model" of unfettered financial influence should NOT be the variant of pure capitalism adopted worldwide. More regulations formulated within this variant is effectively useless due to the misalignment between regulatory objectives and fundamental influence wealth politics carry over the market. Re: enough money. Without constraining the breadth/depth/scope/scale that any measure of money/wealth can have within a market, there will always inherently be those who have "enough money" and those who do not. Those without "enough money" will always lose -- regardless if a bedroom DJ, indie developer, or million-dollar corporation going against a billion-dollar mega-corporation. The evil is the absence of guardrails against the influence of wealth; not the mere existence of wealth. Re: dragged through the courts. The liberalist nature of litigation does not exclude anyone, anywhere, for any reason for getting dragged through the courts. Rather than formalize remediation pathways for various perceived ills, everything is left up to flawed interpretations... and this is where a litigation-averse community fails to thrive (thus a losing proposition when dragged to courts). Everyone should have more protections and clear remediation strategies! Going to an alternate remediation arbitration is OK so long as the case review and remediation processes are clear and transparent. For corporations, hit them where it hurts: automatic financial penalties. (PS: This is where corporate risk management strategies would do well to behave more ethically.) Overall, failure to truly shake-up the incentive core and regulatory extremities of the economic market will necessarily mean that all other actions are simply applying lipstick on a pig. Change begins from the inside. Is the root cause of the problem that a majority of consumers within a market goes for Option Brand-name versus Option Indie? Or that brand-name is spending foreign money to control domestic markets? Or that money is the objective measure for success across all walks of life? Or that deep pockets dictate the moral and ethical rights/wrongs of entire societies? Regardless of the answer (and there's nothing inherently wrong with being a socialist or communist or whatever label your surroundings deem 'cool' or 'uncool') there's a common thread: If a market truly wants to nurture domestic innovation, then performative finger-wagging will do nothing to that end.
