Greetings.

Over the last day or two, I commenced work on a Neowin Boot Screen. Right now, I got the Main screen completed, but there is a blog which I would like to point out.

For the progress bar, I changed the layout significantly so that the image size is 23 ? 11, not the 22 ? 9 used in the original. Also, I used only two glyphs instead of three, which both have the Neowin logo at 11 ? 11. There are also colour variants for the Personal (Home), Professional, and Misc. Editions, which are similar to the colours used in the default XP boot screen. While testing the boot screen, I noticed that the progress glyphs leave a weird trail of black boxes embedded in the gray progress bar, which was caused by the change of progress glyph size. A workaround solution will be in progress as soon as possible. Meanwhile, I still have to modify resources 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 14, and 15.

A link to the boot screen preview can be found below:

Just let me know what you all thin;) ;)

Would you peeps want a different kind of text or omit the entire text altogether? As for the colours, I'll get to that over the next couple of days. And as for the N, I designed it the way I had it because I did not want to completely forge the Neowin logo. Meanwhile, if you can provide a suggestion on how to change the Neowin logo, I'll do it. Thanks for the info so far! ;)

I managed to redo the Neowin logo completely before I left for Toronto three days ago (still there now) . I made the boot screen completely blue and the logo is about the same shape as the original, but with slightly different effects. I'll make green, red, and silver versions of the boot screen as well, but that will come only when I have the blue boot screen completed to near perfection. I'll post the latest image as soon as I get back from Toronto. ;)

Here's my conclusion: for my boot screen, it will just have the "N" logo I created (not the skinny N) with the loader at the top. But if you want, I can create two versions, one with the loader at the top and one with the loader at the bottom. And Quick Reply, thanks, but no thanks for the Photoshop image. ;)

ummmm

i think that you should just go eith the photoshop image that was posted on the page 1

just replace it with the 1 you have at the moment i think it would look better even though it would look like the origianl

Otherwise keep it up

let us know wot ur final result is

:) :D :)
