It should show up in the list on the appearance page of Display Properties (you may need to close Display Properties and open it again to refresh the list). If it doesn't show up make sure you have a recent version of the 'patched' uxtheme dll. People have had problems before when using an old version.

WOW !!! I love this visual style !!!!

It's so smooth !!

I don't know if it's a bug but, with the google toolbar the buttons are not aligned

It should look like "this", i think :

http://www.ngamexp.com/files/everaldo2.png

Technically it is a bug due to the smaller than 'normal' toolbar buttons. The problem is that the google toolbar doesn't use the content margins for the various items quite how it should. I don't plan on releasing a version with a 'fix' since that would mean making the toolbar buttons in every other app bigger again. Having said that it's easy enough to change by opening up the ini files if you want to do so yourself. The values you need to change are the top and bottom content margins for the toolbar (last two values). I'd suggest using a value of 4 for both.

Hmmm....is there a Trillian Pro 2 Skin in the works?

I'm afraid that's not even on the list. If anyone else wants to give a shot - go for it, just let me take a look before you release.

For those that mentioned colours first on the list would have to be teal/tan after that would probably be grey and red. These are not going to happen very soon though as I have a lot of other things to be doing at the moment so don't hold your breath. I also reserve the right to deny that I even said I would consider them if anyone asks!

I tried to edit the visual style with ResHacker, I found the values to change, but I wasn't able to change them. I looked into the everaldo 2 theme (the second screenshot, in my previous post), and there's no ContentMargin value in the toolbar section of the ini.

Any Idea ? I love your theme, and I would like to see this problem fixed.

Just mirror the settings in the Everaldo VS (if there isn't a content margin set take it out and vice versa).

This is honestly the best Visual Style I have ever used..and I go through them alot, but I am for sure keeping this one, for a long time, or until you put out another good one...I hope someone makes a Trillian Pro 2 Skin, that would so rock with this theme..I am using the Winamp skin also..this is really some eye candy,

Thank you..! :D

I tried to change it using PE Resource Explorer, but after the changes, I've got an error when I try to use it :(

Please, telle me which app to use, or could you do this for me ?

I've made a colortheme for winamp 5 ;)

styleshot.jpg

To install just extract the attached .zip file (contains a .xml file) to:

C:\Program Files\Winamp\Plugins\ColorThemes\Winamp Modern

(Where "C:\Program Files\Winamp" is your winamp install directory)

Please reply if this doesn't work...

Also @ author of velvet waves, please pm me if you don't want this distributed, as you will see if you open the xml, you are properly credited in the comment field. :)

Theme Request:

Any chance of a better looking start button when using the theme with a vertical taskbar? Maby a button similar to the taskbuttons?

Im not expecting the wave idea to be executed in vertical mode, but something that looks a bit cleaner than the cut of wave would be nice. (Not sure if it can be done, but as far as i remember from my attemts at making msstyles it should be...)

EDIT:

looks sweet Dipso !!

Glad you liked it, did you use my install method? As i haven't tested that method on my system yet.

EDIT 2:

As someone mentioned earlyer, a trillian skin would be awsome, as thats all thats missing from completing my desktop.

EDIT 3:

Heres a screenshot illustrating the problem, and my sweet desktop ;)

EDIT 4:  (Last one, I swear!)

Incase it makes a differance im using STYLEXP, so if that is the cause of my problems (Shouldn't be) just give a shout. ;)

    • Was it too much to ask to show the icon in this article?
    • Frankly, I blame whoever is writing such articles. "A big improvement/update and/or new feature is now available to everyone! Also, use this unofficial tweak tool to enable it because it actually isn't available to you yet officially and might not in fact even be entirely ready or whatever, hence why it is perhaps not enabled for you*. But it's great and you should enable it!" I mean there's nothing wrong with sharing info about some feature you might need to enable via unofficial means, of course. It's just that these articles tend to essentially end up being two news pieces in one, and one of them tends to be a bit misleading. (*Yes, yes, the "it's a controlled rollout!" thing. Not a fan of that one either. The argument, not the actual rollout.)
    • Thank you. Will do. I read in the release notes that editor config might be at play here.
    • Actually, I think even Microsoft doesn't know how to control it
    • OpenAI is making Codex more useful in Chrome and the cloud by Pradeep Viswanathan OpenAI's Codex now has more than 5 million users, up nearly 4x from earlier this year. To further accelerate Codex's growth among developers, OpenAI today announced that it has agreed to acquire Ona, a company that builds secure cloud execution and orchestration technology for developers. Ona will enable developers to run Codex with persistent and controlled cloud infrastructure for long-running agentic workflows. Right now, most Codex execution happens locally on developers' laptops and PCs, and the agents work continuously for hours. Through Ona, OpenAI aims to make Codex agents keep working for days without being tied to a user’s local machine or an active session. This will be an important capability for enterprises that want to deploy AI agents in production while maintaining control over infrastructure, data, security boundaries, credential scope, logging, and review workflows. Like any acquisition, the deal is still subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals. Until the deal closes, OpenAI and Ona will continue to operate as separate companies. After closing, Ona’s team will join the Codex team to improve developer workflows. Alongside the Ona acquisition announcement, OpenAI today introduced a few Codex updates. Developers can now save Codex rate limit resets and use them later instead of losing them when they are not needed immediately. OpenAI is also adding a referral option where users can invite a friend to Codex and get a saved rate limit reset. OpenAI today also announced a developer mode for browser use in Chrome and the Codex in-app browser. With this mode, Codex can use the Chrome DevTools Protocol to debug web apps, inspect pages, and work more directly with browser-based development workflows. Developers can use this when they want Codex to profile JavaScript, inspect console output and network traffic, examine web page states including the DOM and applied styles, and more.
