WinXP + NetWare Logon

Recommended Posts

I need to set up windows XP with the novell netware network client (in the network config section, included with windows), and when i log in, there is a prompt for the novell server info, but the username is the username of the person logged in and you can't change it, is there any way to change what username and password it uses? the user would like to have a personal account on the computer, and be able to log in to the novell server when on the same network as it, without having to install the novell client.

Its not really possible...

it might not be allowing you to change the username because the Windows Client for netware only supports the old IPX/SPX protocal which was used in older netware versions before 5.0. In later versions of 4, and early versions of 5 they used TCP/IP for sending packets over the network. Most likely the only way you could log in would be to install Novell's own client.
