[Win 7] "Always available offline" folder list?

Recommended Posts

Offline files actually kinda works in Windows 7, and I've been enjoying using it (mostly). Sure there is the occasional hick-up and clearing of cache that is required. But for the most part it has saved me a lot of time when having to work at home and not relying on the VPN.

The folders I select to "Always available offline" change as the projects that I'm working on change. There are probably a handful of projects that I do not need the offline files from anymore. Is there anyway to get a list of only these folders so that I can deselect their "Always available offline" feature?

It looks dim... surely there is a way to run some kind of an advanced search on the whole file server for files that are flagged "Make available offline".

Or at least a way to reset all Make available offline folders so that I can re-add only the ones I need now.

Anyway

Bump.

Thanks.

Use store:csc in the Explorer search box to search the Offline Files store.

Thanks! That seemed to work for the most part (using "store:csc type:folder"). Two problems with this are it gives me all the subfolders under an "always offline" folder and also it appears to show some things that are cached in offline but not necessarily in a folder I have designated to "always be available offline".

Seems like Sync Center should just have a list of locations that are designated as "always available offline"... but MS didn't implement that for some reason.

I found this tidbit which does a complete resetting of all offline files:

Had the same problem few months back . In the end had to reinitialize the offline files cache all together:

1. Open up registry editor (WARNING: Only for Advanced Users)

2. Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Csc

3. Add a new key (folder) called Parameters

4. Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Csc\Parameters, add a new DWORD called FormatDatabase and set its value to 1

And I've made a library called "Offline Folders" to serve as a place to keep track of these folders as I mark them.
