I removed EasyList/Abine/Privacy Choice and replaced with fanboy's 7 lists, seems to work better for me.

Just wanted to mention you don't need to add lists for countries/languages you aren't in/know as they have little no benefit for you while potentially slowing things down.

You need to read this to realize that it doesn't actually "slow things down", if anything, it speeds things up. IE's implementation is greater than that of other browsers because it's implemented at a lower level (WFP).

Also with all due respect, you do not know my browsing habbits. I frequent many countries various websites so using those TPL's speeds things up. But if you were just making a general claim here not pointed at me, I still wouldn't agree. Mainly because you never know what site a user might stumble upon, and if it has a compromised ad from a foreign company.

Fanboys Iron list works much much better than Fanboy's IE9 list.

Would a host-level adblock be a good idea?

It would be effective but it could potentially prevent you from accessing legitimate content. Some sites aren't blocked by domain but by URL for that reason.

While I said "you" I meant the broader "one," and was saying so for everyone's benefit. Please try not to take things so personally. :)

I understand that taking things away might make things faster, but parsing an enormous list every time you load a webpage commonsensically should have some kind of impact on performance. Larger the list the greater the impact. There is also the issue of blocking too much/improperly. Do what you like, of course, especially if you view many countries/languages, I was simply speaking in an "as a general rule" manor.
