Saw it last night. Definitely a bit of a departure in some ways from other Bond movies, but at the same time still a Bond and overall pretty excellent.

Just saw it, did not like it at all. When you go to see a Bond film (the 23rd I might add) you expect some obvious things. They weren't there.

Out of interest, have you seen Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace? If so then you would have realised that these films have taken a departure from the original Bond formula. It's been like this for a while now.

The numbers don't agree with you, this is the highest grossing Bond movie so far. I'd say lots of people liked it. Oh and gadgets are overrated.

I watched it and while it was better than Quantum it was still a "meh" film.

If it was a departure from the "bond formula" why are they prequels and why is the end of Skyfall pretty much the start of the old Bond.

The "bond formula" was something added more in the movies than in the original novels. This bond is closer to the original character than what we had before.

I prefer this Bond to past ones. More realistic and less cheesy feeling to it.
