Looking for good stand up comedy

Recommended Posts

A few have already been said in here, but I'll post a video for each one...

Lee Evans

Michael McIntyre

Dara O'Briain

Jimmy Carr

Lee Mack

If you like watching a drunk rambling Australian, then Jim Jefferies:

If you like musical comedy, then...

Bill Bailey

and Tim Minchin

And if you want controversial but hilarious comedians, two instantly come to mind...

Frankie Boyle

BTW, he's using his "lighter" material in this show. It's much better in his live DVDs. :)

and Jim Davidson

Once again, lighter stuff. There isn't much of Jim Davidson on YouTube due to his controversial nature, but personally, I still find him hilarious.

A few more...

Roy "Chubby" Brown

A bit like Jim Davidson, but with much more swearing.

Al Murray

You might not like him, as his material is mostly patriotic, but you never know. :p

Andy Parsons

Rhod Gilbert

Stephen K Amos

Stewart Francis

Jim Gaffigan

Mitch Hedberg

Christian Finnegan

Eddie Izzard

Brian Regan

Doug Benson

Ralphie May

Brian Posehn

Demetri Martin

Greg Giraldo

Jeff Ross

Mike Birbiglia

Classics:

Bill Hicks

George Carlin

Ben Elton, i still find his satire incredibly funny,

Alot has already said but ill recommend anyway,

Eddie Izzard - mainly early stuff, the later stuff like Sexy wasn't as good

Lee Evans :- any and all they are really good

Jack Dee :- especially his early stuff, but most of it's great

Stephen K Amos :- not really what i would consider Laugh so hard milk comes out of your nose, but amusing and good to watch

Bill Bailey Funny / great

Well so i've watched all of george carlins HBO specials... He was awesome if not teh best!.. So far i've also watched:

Dave Chapelle (close contender).

Robin Williams

Chris Rock kinda meh...

But as usual, I need MOAR! So what are your recommendations.

Watch some routines by John Pinnette, he's great

Jimmy Carr!

+1, this was going to be my top suggestion. God he's brilliant.

Also... Billy Connolly, Kathleen Madigan, Frank Caliendo, and John Caparulo. These are all different types of comics, so if you don't like one, maybe you will another. I enjoy all these :D

Someone already mentioned him, but I'd give another vote for Kevin Hart. I'd also recommend the following:

Eddie Murphy

Earthquake

Steve Harvey

Martin Lawrence

Bill Engvall

Jeff Foxworthy

Ron White

There's probably a bunch of others, I just can't think of them right now.

Tim Minchin
Agreed. He's awesome.
Jim Gaffigan

Mitch Hedberg

Christian Finnegan

Eddie Izzard

Brian Regan

Doug Benson

Ralphie May

Brian Posehn

Demetri Martin

Greg Giraldo

Jeff Ross

Mike Birbiglia

Classics:

Bill Hicks

George Carlin

These are some of the best.

Surprised nobody has mentioned Lewis Black.

Bill Maher

is pure genius.

It's the White Whale of Stand Ups..... Howie Mandel on Ice. If you can find it, you will laugh till your ass bleeds ( inside joke from the stand up :p ) Truly a great stand up that seems to almost be totally unavailable to buy anywhere except for http://howiemandel.com/store.html

    • All it does is use the CPU more efficiently during boot to speed up boot times. That's it. Yawn....
    • It's not a one or the other kind of thing. Software should run efficiently, and the operating system should appropriately manage the CPU clocks. You could have the best most optimized software on earth, and it will still run faster if the CPU does a better job of boosting as needed. All this is doing is pre-boosting the CPU based on user actions, instead of waiting for the normal detection mechanism to kick in. If the OS knows it is about to need more CPU, why shouldn't it use that knowledge? It's the same idea of downshifting before passing someone, instead of just burying your foot into the peddle and waiting for the transmission to figure out what you want to do.

    • There really isn't anything magical about the low latency profile, other OS's do this as well. All they're doing is using your CPUs boost clock options in a more smarter way.
    • So we shouldn't have the option because of people using their laptops on battery? OK? LOL
