Im new to Linux.. i just downloaded and installed firefox 4.01 and i need to create a desktop shortcut to it so i dont use the terminal every time i need to run it an ubuntu forum suggested this: ln -sf /home/...../appname $HOME/Desktop but i am not being able to do so.. any help? mps69 Posted May 4, 2011 Share Posted May 4, 2011 If you locate firefox from Applications - Internet - Firefox, you can right click the icon, and create shortcut or add to launch bar. You might be able to drag the icon directly to the desktop. I can't check at the moment as I'm at work.
