How to download file onto remote machine using SSH

I need to download some files from a remote source onto my remote Linux server using SSH. However, the problem is the download links are usually encrypted or otherwise cannot be directly accessed, so I cannot use the wget command. I don't think it's very efficient to download files onto my local computer and manually upload it again using FTP or whatever. Is there any way around this?
