I'm thrilled by this, though I can't help but feel that they'll be forced to rush the show's conclusion with only 13 more episodes. Still, it at least has a chance to finish properly and that's reason enough to be happy about this.

That's great news. I'm so happy that they renewed it for a 5th season. Thirteen episodes is obviously better than no episodes at all. Hopefully, they'll make the best use of those episodes.

No matter how many episodes they have they won't be able to please everyone. 22 episodes and people complain that there are too many filler episodes, 13 episodes and others will say it's rushed. I think 13 is a good number; They can advance the story and leave out the filler. Game of Thrones for example has short seasons but every episode is great and advances the story.

But they leave huge portions of the ASoIaF story out of GoT.

They also combine or remove characters. they've moved like 4 characters to season 3 that should have appeared in season 2. I guess we have enough new characters as it is.

Poor Silver...that horse will live on in the books.

That was an ok episode. It really backs down when you have an explosive episode (the future one) and come back to the present.

I thought it was a good setup episode for the two part finale. I noticed that there was one thing we don't normally have, a lot of moments where there was just silence while the characters thought. I liked that, it made the matters they were thinking of feel that much more real.

Come to think of it, yes it was a good setup episode. I didn't know it was going to be a two part finale. lol. Taking that into consideration, yeah, it's still a decent episode.

just read about next season being the final one, that sucks. hoping some other network picks it up but prolly wont happen :(. Luckily writers and viewers are getting a chance to finish the series properly rather than leaving it on some cliffhanger. Was never really into scfi so fringe always seemed like a very creative and original series. Hopefully we get to see more from this team after fringe

I thought this episode was brilliant, very emotionally satisfying, could have served as a finale if the show didn't make another season. Amazing acting from John noble, the scene between the two walters at the end was so great.

Agreed, the two Walters at the end having a chat together was moving.

This would be awesome...

From TVLine.com:

Fringe | Now that we are for sure getting a fifth (albeit final) season, here?s one face you might see pop up in the show?s forever twisty universe: Robin Williams. TV?s erstwhile Mork, who after a long string of big screen outings has in recent years guested on Law & Order: SVU, Louie and, coming up, Wilfred, says Fox?s sci-fi series is at the top of his list to visit next. ?My god, Fringe would be amazing,? he told me at the Comedy Awards, where he was honored as a Stand-Up Icon. (Williams also is high on Homeland, though frankly we can only see his bearded self playing Mandy Patinkin?s twin brother.) In fact, the funny man is game to join a TV series on a full-time basis. ?F?in? A, yeah, I?d do it ? if it was fun,? he said.

---

I thought Williams' performance in SVU was brilliant. I've never liked his brand of slapstick comedy, and it has only gotten worse over the years, but his serious roles, like in the film One Hour Photo and Insomnia, are brilliant. He's great at playing the crazy guy. I'd love to see him join Fringe as a bad guy.

I don't get it. Two episodes ago Jones was trying to kill the link between the two worlds. But now they are doing it themselves voluntarily? I understand they think they are doing it to save the worlds but something is not as it seems.

Also glad to hear the show will get a proper conclusion.

I thought Jones wanted Broyles to place a device on the machine that connected the two universes. Do we actually know what that device was going to be used for?

We don't, it could have been an alternate plan for his goal of combining the universes. Jones was a guy to always have a backup plan.

Creating diagrams in the desktop app doesn’t need an internet connection. This is useful when you are disconnected or when you must create diagrams in a highly secure environment, where data protection is of the utmost importance. When you use the draw.io desktop app, your diagrams will be stored on your local device. Because this is a stand-alone application, also designed to run offline, there are no interfaces to cloud storage platforms available. Of course, you can still store your diagrams in folders that are synchronised to your cloud storage if you wish. Easy-to-use diagram editor The draw.io apps work just like the office and drawing tools you are used to using. Drag and drop shapes from the shape libraries and drag to draw connectors between them. Drag connectors to add waypoints and set a precise shape and position, or let them reroute automatically. Double click and start typing to add a label to anything. Create tables and swimlane flows with a familiar tool. Style shapes and connectors with customisable palettes, sketch options, fonts and text formatting tools. Search for shapes, including in open-source icon libraries. Use our vast libraries of shapes and templates, organised into logical categories, to create a range of diagrams and infographics. • Microsoft will soon allow some users to block Copilot from analyzing their Office files by Usama Jawad Microsoft Purview is a pretty useful data governance, security, and management service that allows customers to gain enhanced visibility and control over their content. It's meant for commercial customers, such as organizations that are storing data at scale. As AI continues to expand and infiltrate every corner of a firm, many are a bit conscious about the technology gaining access to their confidential data. Microsoft is now making a configuration change that will allow such customers to rest easy. Right now, users within an organization have the option to apply Purview sensitivity labels (when available) to secure certain files and label them as such. For example, if you apply the "Confidential" label on an Excel file, the file will be encrypted, and a "confidential" watermark will be applied to it. So, if this file is shared with anyone, they are aware that its access is supposed to be restricted. Up until now, Microsoft was allowing some connected experiences, like its AI services, to analyze files, regardless of their sensitivity label. This is of major concern to most organizations, as a recent example highlighted how confidential emails with data loss prevention (DLP) policies like privacy labels were being uploaded to Copilot for analysis. As such, Microsoft is updating an existing Purview data label sensitivity setting that prevents "some connected experiences that analyze content", from being blocked completely from doing this. The label isn't changing, but the blocking is now being enforced across all connected services (including Copilot and other AI tools), and now extends to Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Files with the label applied already will get this enhancement automatically too once it becomes available. Microsoft has urged IT admins to inform their respective helpdesk and compliance teams, update internal documentation, and review sensitivity labels to ensure that they meet their respective compliance needs. This change is tagged as MC1297982 in the Message Center. General availability is scheduled to begin in a phased manner soon and will complete by the end of next month. That said, it is important to note that this only applies to commercial customers who have a license that allows them to use Purview.
