I'm confused why people want MW3 for multiplayer and single player for BF3. Battlefield has always focused more on multiplayer than SP so I'm quite surprised about that. With my experience with CoD games, they are more of a frag fest than anything. People running around with 2 knifes, jumping through windows and killing people and stuff like that. With playing both MW2 and Black Ops, Battlefield 2 and BFBC2 feel much better games (though, I prefer BC2 more). The huge maps, the vehicles. And the one thing people are forgetting about BF3 multiplayer, 64 player servers! <3

Agreed, if anything its MW3 for SP; BF3 for SP + MP. But I just got into BC2 and other than that it was CoD:Black Ops because it'd been a while since I had an Xbox, got a 360s for Christmas and got what my friends were playing. Now I know better and will be converting them to BF3 (hopefully). Would love to see some awesome BF3 Multiplayer footage similar to the great 12 minute video we have of single player.

IF, my PC allow me to play (doubt it), I would like both.

Surly if I have to buy new PC parts I may not be able to buy both, so I will have to make a choice.

One thing is sure, if MW3 have the same MP experience as MW2, I will probably not get it.

I just wrote this to a friend in an email as we were talking about gaming and COD specifically, and after thinking about it some more, I believe this is how I feel about it all...

I have been thinking about the fact that I may very well be passing completely on COD MP this time around since it comes out so close to BF3. I figure I can play the SP on PC, I am definitely into the SP, no doubt, and just play BF for the MP. Will see, if some more news comes out that really makes it the MP a must play I may reconsider, but you know my interest has slowly been dwindling with the series. I am also really considering the possibility that BF3 may warrant upgrades to my graphics cards, so thinking the less games I purchase around that time the better. Just also being realistic, games like Uncharted 3 also come out around that time, so with the small amount of hours I get to game now regardless, and that time of year is always hectic with the holidays, etc. etc., I won't even have much time realistically to play BF3 MP, never-mind COD's as well. So if I have to choose between the two of them, well you know which one I am choosing. Like I said will see, but that is how it probably is going to play out.

Pretty sure that is exactly how it is going to play out for myself. I am serious too, I think my 2 460's should be able to handle BF3 just fine, but if not, I would strongly consider upgrading my graphics card just for the game itself. And I see a few others in this thread also saying the same. I think that says something about the expectations of BF3.

I personally hate how BF fans are slating MW3 and praising BF3 even though they've played neither and neither is anywhere near finished :/

I think that has more to do with how CoD has been lately. For many, CoD died after MW. W@W was a great game once Treyarch got the update train started for it.

Thanks to Steam for the free play weekend on Black Ops, it just confirmed that I had saved $60 bucks and made the right choice in not buying it (for me that is, to each their own).

MW3 for the multiplayer and the campaign while BF3 for probably just the campaign. While I still excel in Battlefield's MP, it is just slower paced due to the larger maps in comparison to the COD series. I'm hoping MW3 can ride Black Ops success because looking back on the past 8-9 months, it has really been solid unlike MW2.

BF3 is going to be the shizz!!!! I can't say that enough, all I know is if I had to ability to dedicate a few years to one thing, and one thing only, it would be mastering the BF3.

I'm still playing BF2 on my spare time and i'm going to spend the next 6 years kickin' it on this game as well... The only problem is I'll barely even have the weekends to play, but shiz, it still doesn't stop the fact that BF3 is going to be sweet and I'm going to love it for many many years.

MWF3 will probably be cool too though, but literally, we BF2 fans have been waiting over 6 years now!! Almost time..

    • Surprise! We still can't get it right. With the current state of AI, the crappy software, the huge mega-corporations that back all of these idiot things, I think we are a very long way away from SAE Level 5. I, for one, will never get in one.
    • Nice. September/October GA?! I'll keep following it, but won't install any preview or beta versions.
    • Wow, that could have been dangerous, certainly not ready for these things. They have to be 100% or pretty well close to it. Not that I will see one i doubt, never mind ride in one, they may have them in London, but I doubt they will come to where I live.
    • Nothing kills CMF Phone 2 Pro's successor due to rising memory prices by Hamid Ganji Storage and RAM prices have been rising over the past year, leading to a significant increase in the cost of electronics for customers around the world. Many companies are now revising their plans for upcoming devices due to higher component costs and overall production expenses. CMF is the latest company to cancel the successor to one of its best-selling phones due to rising memory prices. CMF is a sub-brand of Nothing and focuses on making budget smartphones for growing markets. The brand launched the CMF Phone 2 Pro last year with some eye-catching specifications and an affordable price. While many customers may have been waiting for a successor this year, one of the company’s executives has announced that CMF will not release a new smartphone this year. And AI is to blame. As Nothing co-founder Akis Evangelidis announced on X, the company has been working on a successor to the CMF Phone 2 Pro, but with current memory prices, it cannot “build a phone that feels like a genuine step forward at a price that makes sense for CMF.” So, no new CMF phone will be launched this year. Meanwhile, Evangelidis said the company still has several new products in the pipeline, including some in entirely new categories. He added that the Nothing brand will also continue launching new products through 2026. Budget smartphones are among the first victims of the surge in RAM and memory prices, as they have become more expensive to build. The sharp increase in memory costs could also reshape the traditional price ranges associated with budget phones. Apple CEO Tim Cook also recently said that price increases for some of the company’s products are unavoidable because RAM and memory have become significantly more expensive this year. Analysts estimate that the base price of the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro could rise to $1,399 due to current market shortages.
    • Nudge me when they bring back hardware audio acceleration so I can get my EAX 5 back. We've evolved graphics to real-time path tracing, but regressed audio some 15 years back in time with this stupid software audio stack.
