Download some ThemeXP themes and install from the ZIP file.  You'll get spyware/adware from that.  Unusual question, but GOOD LUCK!!

Heck, just VISIT themesxp.org and click 'OK' to every popup :)

Simple, just turn on your cookies, and go to some random porn, warez, or even chat room sites and boom....

Just browse around the internet (mainly porn sites) with Internet Explorer and all security settings set to default. Make sure to disable any 3rd party popup blockers/firewalls. You'll be full of spyware within 30 minutes.

actually I find setting your security to high does pretty well. now, to install spyware just do the opposite, set it to low for the internet. also make sure it is connecting to the internet directly, with no firewall. it should install everything set to low

Im not doubting that.

But what the fellow is suggesting is that people should browse the internet with IE that is not uptodate, with updates such as SP2, or changing the security settings to reflect the need to block active x controls that arent safe etc.

I dont wish to turn this into another "I hate IE V's I love Alternate Browser" thread! IE out of the Box isnt safe to browse the web with, thats why Microsoft have released patches to fix these things. IE was envisioned and implemented in an environment dissilimiliar to the NET landscape that we have to-day, but there are fixes for it.
