Just picked this game up last night, it started off pretty slow but it's definitely proving to be a good purchase now. The graphics are superb.

Forgot how to use spoiler tags, but this is hardly giving anything away, just fun hunting..

I just want to say **** you to a certain panther in regards to a recurve bow only mission..

its really awesome! Love games with large explorable worlds and many weapons/vehicles etc.

The hang glider is awesome fun!

Shame my CPU struggles with it and I'm only getting about 23FPS average so its a bit jumpy. Really cant wait to upgrade this CPU.

However, even with the crappy FPS rate its still awesome

If you love games, and if youre reading this then you do - take it "slow", be a completionist - I got to the point of having 10 extra skill points unusable because I hadn't progressed far enough into the story, just now maxing out my "bags" of all types. I love this game, tbh, top 3 games (single player) I've had in memory, possibly period - will hold off until complete; 12 hours in.

its really awesome! Love games with large explorable worlds and many weapons/vehicles etc.

The hang glider is awesome fun!

Shame my CPU struggles with it and I'm only getting about 23FPS average so its a bit jumpy. Really cant wait to upgrade this CPU.

However, even with the crappy FPS rate its still awesome

If you are getting low GPU use and low FPS, try ALT ENTER to switch to windowed mode, wait a few seconds and do it again to get back to fullscreen while you are in the middle of a game, my GPU use jumped from 60% to 98% and gives much better FPS after doing that

I gotta say, the game is probably my GOTY for 2012, it's just amazing. But after reading the RPS interview on the story and what the writer wanted to say with it, and with what happened in NewTown,CT recently - I feel kinda bad playing the game lately. Not to mention every decision I'm making in the game and any story element I come across I'm analyzing like crazy.

Probably doesn't help that I read about the ending and now I'm like, eh whatever with you!

Its a game, virtual, and you bought a shooter, I haven't finished but regardless, you had some idea as to what you were getting into. Guns don't kill, people do. Show me a RL gun that pulls its own trigger while plotting terrible ideas and locations then get back to me. Yes what happened is horrendous, especially involving Children, but this forum on a game isn't the place to express your remorse for in-game decisions. Side-note: Psychological and medical communities have mountains of research disproving the "link" that video games cause violence. Correlation > Causality in this case. /rant

But, yes, 2012 single-player GOTY. BF3 still dominates in multi-player IMO, even if it was 2011 original release

My comment wasn't intended as some call for gun control, or that I felt remorse for shooting digital douchebags in a shooter :D

My point was simply, for me, I just became uncomfortable with the thoughts of some of the things in game that's all. If you've gotten far enough in the game (or read the interview I mentioned or other such articles) then you might know what I am referring to. I certainly will not stop playing the game, nor other games where there is simulated violence perpetrated by guns in said games. I just felt...weird let's say in Far Cry 3 at the time I wrote my comment about it. It'll pass like any other experience any of us feel or take with us in any game we play.

Same can be said with a game like Journey or even Fez, especially since those games elicit specific responses on purpose. Uh, I don't want to seem like I'm ranting either so I'll just shut up now :)

I just updated FC3 and lost all my game saves!

Whatever I did I couldn't get them to come back. I eventually got it to work by going into the game installation folder and opening the dx11 version of the fc3.exe. (also had to right click it and set it to run as admin)

Just thought I'd put this here incase anyone else every has the same issue.

I always thought this was just a standard fps, then someone mentioned to me the rather obtuse comparison of being skyrim with guns...so I jumped on and looked at some video reviews and whilst I couldn't say its skyrim with guns its certainly not bad, very much enjoying the openness of the game and the rpg elements :)

Just finished the game tonight. I'd say I put around 20 hours into it. Loved every minute of it. At first I didn't think I'd care for the story, and I didn't. But the gameplay was just awesome. After awhile, I started to get into the story. Jason got on my nerves a good bit, but after awhile you learn to connect with him. The ending(s) kind of let me down. Both were very quick, and felt rushed, or uninspired. But still, the gameplay was amazing. Vaas is definitely on my list of amazing game villains.

This made me laugh so hard. Not sure if it has been posted here before. I looked for a sec and didn't see it.

Just started this game tonight, put about 1.5 hours in. So far, I feel completely lost :laugh: Not lost as in Skyrim lost but lost with the story. I'm sure it will start piecing itself together. I absolutely hate the menu system.

Game runs great on my setup, running on the new 313.95 drivers.

      Google reportedly set to lose two key Gemini and DeepMind researchers to Anthropic by Karthik Mudaliar Google is reportedly preparing to lose two more prominent artificial intelligence researchers, with Gemini contributors Jonas Adler and Alexander Pritzel planning to join rival AI developer Anthropic. According to a report from Bloomberg, both researchers are viewed internally as important contributors to Google’s flagship Gemini model family. Adler worked on Google’s AI coding efforts, while Pritzel was involved in the process used to train AI systems. Neither company has publicly confirmed the moves. The report also does not say when the researchers will formally leave Google or what positions they will hold at Anthropic. Training a large AI model requires decisions covering its architecture, data preparation, distributed computing infrastructure, and post-training methods that shape how the finished system behaves. Researchers with experience operating at the scale of Gemini are consequently difficult to replace quickly. Both Adler and Pritzel have previously contributed to Google DeepMind’s scientific research as well. They are listed among the authors of the company’s work on expanding AlphaFold protein-structure predictions across entire proteomes, alongside AlphaFold researchers including John Jumper. The reported departures arrive shortly after another important change within Google’s Gemini organization. Gemini co-lead Noam Shazeer is leaving Google for OpenAI, after returning to the search company in 2024 through its deal with Character.AI. Shazeer is particularly well known as one of the authors of the Transformer paper, whose architecture became the foundation for most modern large language models. Anthropic, meanwhile, has been recruiting recognizable figures from other leading laboratories. OpenAI co-founder and former Tesla AI director Andrej Karpathy joined Anthropic’s pre-training team in May. His move, followed by the reported recruitment of several Google researchers, suggests Anthropic is strengthening the research teams responsible for the core capabilities of future Claude models rather than concentrating solely on product and enterprise sales. The competition is complicated by the companies’ extensive commercial relationships. Anthropic competes directly with Google’s Gemini models, but it also relies on Google as an infrastructure partner.       Google adds built-in computer control to Gemini 3.5 flash by Karthik Mudaliar Google has added Computer Use as a built-in tool in Gemini 3.5 Flash, giving developers a single model that can reason about a task and operate graphical interfaces across browsers, mobile devices, and desktop environments. The feature is available through the Gemini API and Google’s Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, although it remains a preview feature for now. Computer Use enables an AI agent to examine screenshots and return actions such as mouse clicks, scrolling, and keyboard input. A developer’s application must execute those actions, capture the resulting screen, and send it back to Gemini, creating a continuous loop until the task is completed. Google says the integration can be used for activities including repetitive form filling, application testing, research across multiple websites, and longer enterprise workflows. Gemini 3.5 Flash can work with browser, mobile, and desktop environments, whereas Google’s earlier standalone Computer Use model was primarily positioned around browser interaction. The main change is consolidation. Computer control was previously offered through the separate Gemini 2.5 Computer Use preview model. As Neowin reported when that model was introduced, it was designed to interpret a visual interface and generate actions without requiring a website-specific API. Google later brought Computer Use to preview versions of Gemini 3 Pro and Gemini 3 Flash in January 2026. The latest release now incorporates the tool into the stable Gemini 3.5 Flash model rather than requiring developers to select a specialized model solely for interface automation. Gemini 3.5 Flash itself was announced in May as Google’s latest fast model for coding and multi-step agent workflows. It supports a one-million-token input context window and up to 65,000 output tokens, along with adjustable thinking levels that let developers trade additional reasoning for lower latency and cost. Google also added that Gemini 3.5 Flash received targeted adversarial training for computer-use scenarios. The company is also offering safeguards that can require user confirmation before sensitive or irreversible actions and automatically stop a workflow when suspected prompt injection is detected. Its developer documentation describes configurable protections for areas such as financial transactions and changes to sensitive records. Google isn't the first to bring Computer Use to its platform. Anthropic has made computer control available through Claude, while OpenAI has continued improving computer-use performance in its recent models. Microsoft has also applied the concept to business workflows, including a Computer Use capability for the Researcher agent in Microsoft 365 Copilot.
