Ubisoft finally gave an official look at the Assassin's Creed Black Flag remake today at the dedicated showcase. The new edition received a firm release date, details on what's being updated, system requirements, pricing, fresh trailers, and more landed today for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. Check out the world premiere trailer above, which contains a mix of in-game cinematics and gameplay.
Landing 13 years after the original action adventure involving the pirate life of assassin Edward Kenway, the remake is aiming to offer an experience that's "more immersive and realistic than ever before" according to Ubisoft.
The studio called this a faithful recreation of the original. It will be using Ubisoft's latest Anvil Engine improvements from Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and it won't be an RPG like recent titles. The studio is touting ray tracing, modernized water rendering, new quests and customization options, and deeper combat and stealth mechanics, as well as reworked naval battles.
"You’ll return to the Caribbean to live the pirate life as the captain of the Jackdaw and experience the thrills and danger of explosive naval combat, cutthroat sword battles of the new and improved parry-driven combat system, a total visual overhaul that brings the beautiful tropical environment to life, and so much more," says Ubisoft. Check out the gameplay overview trailer below.
At the same time, Ubisoft also revealed what sort of hardware PC players will need to jump into the remake for smooth gameplay. Considering that even the Steam Deck is now listed as a supported device, the company is aiming for a pretty optimized experience this time.
