I've added /unread/ to the similar topic links that appear at the bottom of the topic. The watch icons don't seem to work, and only a few (unclickable) icons show up; so for now I've sent in a support request to the hook author and made this change.
Should be less frustrating to jump into a similar topic now (before it was either first, or last post).
If you've never read the topic, it will still take you to the first post.
