I use Metro already a lot. I have quite a lot of apps that I use daily, including the Windows Mail app (although it heavily lacks notifications and so on). I also (even though I am a desktop user) like to use the Metro edition of Internet Explorer 10. However, there are some things I simply can't stand - especially regarding the auto-correct feature in Windows 8's Metro environment.
- Internet Explorer 10 in Metro mode appears to have auto-correct on its own, even when it's turned off in the Windows 8 Metro control panel. What is up with that? How do I turn it off entirely?
- I write both in Danish and English, and I swap between these languages hundreds of times during a day. Where do I find a simple button like Windows Phone has to switch between the languages? Is this button only available in touch, or do I really have to go to the control panel every time?
- When I write in English and autocorrect is set to Danish, why is it trying to correct this? English is the standard language (although not the most spoken one) in Europe at least. They should combine the Danish vocabulary with the English one, so I don't get bothered when I write English. They did so with the most common words in Windows Phone as well.
- Weird words are being corrected in Danish. For instance, if I write "next" (in that exact casing), it is autocorrected to "NeXT". Say what?
