There are lots and lots of custom Start buttons including Metro ones on Seven-Forums and Deviantart.

I haven't read all of this thread, but have you looked at:

They have a free version, but $10 to unlock everything. I personally use the free version and it is pretty good.

I was using Classic Shell, but I prefer Start8.
