So my computer just updated the other day and now my lockscreen is just blue with no background picture and when I try to change the lockscreen picture it has this error. Anyone know how to fix this issue?

OS?

I'm guessing 7 as there have been some recent updates which have made the lock screen not work correctly recently if you have certain software installed. In my case it was some software to allow me to mount iso's as a drive. Once I removed that everything was ok again.

This does mean I can't play the freely available mechcommander 2 and C&C games now though :(

Windows 8 supports mounting ISOs as drives already, right? Or is it different from what you want to do?
Nvm. I just skimmed your post.

I posted a screenshot... It's Windows 8 not Windows 7. Windows 7 doesn't have lockscreen background pictures.

I'm going to take a guess and say one of the updates messed with the write access to that part of the system so you can't change the setting or something weird like that. I doubt these will be the only updates till GA, we'll probably see a few more till the 26th.

Yeah I'm doing a sfc scan but I'll just wait for another update to fix it I guess unless someone posts a fix sooner than microsoft can get to it lol.

Ok I found out how to fix this problem! If you delete the whole C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\SystemData folder than it will let you set your lock screen once again! Anyways hope this helps you out!

Where did you get the information for solving this problem? I have the same issue and I don't want to mess with any system files if it won't work.
