Is it worth upgrading my netbook to Windows 8?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, I've been thinking for a while: Is it worth to upgrade my netbook to Windows 8?

Specs:

2GB RAM DDR2

Intel Atom N450 @ 1.6 GHz Dual Core.

HDD @ 7.2 KRPM

1024 x 600 screen res.

Windows 7 Home Premium - 32 Bit.

I know I won't be able to run metro apps due to the low resolution (not planning on doing the res hack either, except for control panel customizations). What I'm planning is, due to Windows 8's low resource demand, upgrade to it so I can have a faster OS with the same hardware. Regarding the visuals, I really do not care how Windows 8 looks for my netbook, since I have the classic style with all of the effects turned off (due to speed).

What do you guys think? Is it worth it, or do I stick with 7?

Thanks :p

Since you already said that you don't mind not being able to run Metro apps, then I don't see any reason why you should not be upgrading apart from paying the upgrade price for something you won't be utilize fully. It's your decision, mate.
