Windows 8 search not working properly

I'm having trouble with Windows search.

Neither the start screen nor the search feature within Explorer will return any results if the files I want to look for are on my secondary HDD. This is a bit of a problem as all of my documents, pictures, videos, downloads etc are on this secondary drive.

I can even go into the documents library and search using Explorer, and it still won't find anything that I search for.

Any suggestions? Everything is indexed and the indexing is complete.

Having search problems here too.

The search is not respecting the indexing options.

It displays any file type instead of those I restricted it to and displays the files from locations not selected.

Yea, Windows 8 is ignoring the indexing settings. I've even tried creating a new indexing file but it doesn't pay any attention to it.

I just started using Everything for file search.

I had this issue and realized it just wouldn't work if I was navigating within a "Library". The moment I went to the actual folder location via the drive letter, search within explorer worked fine for me.

Have you added those locations to a library?
